Thats fine, but we're not making the playoffs, the season was lost when we started 1-5, the rest is just window dressing.
Don't you guys realize that the more they win with that pathetic excuse of a QB, the more the idiot CS will keep playing him? The moral of the story here is to see what or if we have a future with Petty or Hack? We know we don't have one with Fitz. The CS knows it to or atleast I hope they do. We know we don't have one with Geno but I was at least willing to see if there was a chance being his age and talent. These meaningless wins keeps this moron playing and for what, to go 6-10 or 7-9 at best and mess up our draft position even more. Not saying Petty or Hack are going to take this team to the playoffs. I know their not and personally, I don't think our future QB is even on the roster yet. But it would be nice to see if they are. I didn't even watch the game and glad I didn't. The Jets squeaked by the Browns with Fitzgarbage and some of you guys are happy with this. Like this will do anything to our season other then mess up our draft position. WTF!!!

I don't think they are going to expose the young QB's until the season is officially a wash. If they can keep winning with Fitz they will roll the dice with him. The plan was always to have him play to the best of his ability this season and then see what we have in Petty & Hack (that's why they structured the 3 year deal with backup money in years 2 & 3, and also why they were willing to roll the dice with a one year deal with him).
We have some nice young WR's on the squad but our O Line is pretty bad and whoever we put back there is going to take a beating. So why expose the young QB's and potentially ruin them with a ton of sacks if it can be avoided?
Fitz was never the answer, he has always been a placeholder. Let him earn his damn $12M for better or worse; he is getting his dough so either earn it or take the damn beating we're paying you to take.
I don't think Petty is 100% yet, so no reason to throw him to the wolves and make matter worse.
They are not going to play Petty until mathematically eliminated.....get used to it .....
Or Fitzpatrick gets a concussion sliding head first for a first down. We almost saw Petty today. Fitzpatrick's ballsy running might catch up with him this year. Petty better be warm on the sidelines.
I am and that's why I'm not watching them play. Until he's bench again any way.
The coaching staff has been with Petty and Hack all season long. They know exactly what they have. They watch them in practice. They do not think they are ready yet. I trust their judgement. The only thing that playing the young guys does is satisfy the fans' hunger to find out about the future. I have no problem with the coaching staff going with Fitz as long as there is still a chance for us to make the playoffs. You have veterans on this team that want to win. They know their back is against the wall and will play their hearts out. They want to do it with the best qb out there.
Crazier things have happened in sports. Maybe the Jets pull it off. I'm not saying we all get emotionally invested again but I think we should take each win and be happy about it.
Having said all this, I do think that once we reach 7 losses, we should play the young guys but for now. Since we are in, let's go with Fitz. The offense hasn't quit on him. I have yet to see anyone display any frustration towards him. They respect him.

We won a football game today, and some people can't stop saying "I hate Fitzpatrick". I'm just gonna enjoy the ride until we're eliminated. Petty will get his opportunity.

I know we have many flaws and injuries right now, but the schedule from here on is quite friendly (we have two games against the Cheats, but we'll likely be favored in the rest). It's the worst feeling to be eliminated early in the season, just hoping for a high pick.
We have a decent chance to be back at .500 at the bye week, and if we pull that off, that would more or less be in line with what most of us here expected before the beginning of the season based on the schedule. Then, who knows what can happen after the break...

Do you really think they played their hearts out in this game? Sorry but I do not... I really do not put much credence in beating the worst team in the league by three points and being thoroughly outplayed and outcoached in the 1st half.
Win or lose these players do not seem to care unless they are uttering platitudes about their good week of practice. I stand by my opinion of this HC... he is not very good in any facet of his responsibilities and if I was woody I tell him he is on thin ice.... I am sick of watching this team be unprepared to play... I can not wait for the bye so we can rest up, have great practices and come out flat so we can get steamed rolled by NE... Sorry guys but I have lost faith in this HC and the CS....
i admit they came in flat and that is totally on Bowles and I blame him big time for the majority of our problems. The team comes in the game unfocused. One bright spot is that he finally must have gotten pissed at them at half time. I read somewhere That they asked him what adjustments he made at half time and he said nothing. He just told them they better start playing better. Maybe this changes things going forward. He was even more aggressive going for it on fourth down.
I also think this team is not talented. We overrated ourselves this offseason. Our dline is good but all of them are better against the run than at getting to the qb, our secondary is trash and we have no qb. Only good people on offense are mangold, Marshall, and Q. We need a serious rebuild.
that's really the only thing i disagreed with E's post..
flat first halves under bowles seems about par for the course.. any sense of urgency doesn't seem to happen until well after kickoff regardless of how do or die the game is..
bowles is in over his head & his perceived lack of passion irks the pluck out of me..
I don't think we have "no QB". This was a Jekyll and Hyde game for Fitz. Awful in the first half, good in the 2nd half. I know that doesn't follow the "All or nothing" or "Black and White" part of this fanbase, but it's the truth.
Our secondary even played much better in the second half after a bad start. Consistency seems to be a problem with this team. There's no reason why Pryor should've owned Revis. That was alarming. [BR][/BR]And our pass rush was non-existent. One sack today. Inexcusable. Gailey has finally realized that he cannot win games behind an aerial assault with Fitz. We MUST run the ball to win.
But the Jets are 3-5. We're not dead yet. I'm not throwing the towel in just yet.
Realistically, we're out of it. However, what many of you don't realize is that the coaching staff and players cannot and should not view things the way fanatics, I mean fans, do.How would you feel if you were a veteran like Mangold and the coach played a virtual rookie in order to appease the fans? Again, when Fitz was first named the starter, I predicted exactly what has happened with his play, so I am not a Fitz apologist. However, the coaches and players still have more confidence in Fitz at this time, and they see both QBs in practice. You'll get to see Petty soon enough. I think that the Jets will be 4-6 going into their bye, which means 4-7 after the Pats game. You'll see Petty after that.

EXACTLY......And isn't that proof positive that this team is NOT getting any better? The HC's job is to make this team better and better until they win the SB. That is not in the least bit on the demanding side, it's simply a reasonable expectation.
For me this season is 100% on the HC. I do not believe he packs the gear to succeed at his job. Change is necessary.........
My biggest concern, even though we won the game is the defense.
It's like we have absolutley no scheme whatsoever. We had one sack? Come on now.
Sure there are offensive flaws, but our defense is just horrible at creating any sort of pressure.
