Personally, I’d like 4 easy games to start the season and 4 wins to build confidence
And Patriots fans think that his months as an intern 40 years ago have made Goodell some sort of Jets sycophant.I cannot understand Goodell? When the,Jets were on Madison Ave., Goodell was an intern for them. Now he wouldn't give them the time of day. C'mon Rog, you weren't privy to much. You probably had to use the bathroom in the lobby. You're trying too hard to act squeaky clean. In psychology it's called overcompensating.
You are absolutely correct here and that's the cause of my apprehension. Like you I hope that Saleh thinks about that and sees to it that they get as much time working together as possible without overdoing it. Those of us who have played know the value of knowing what to expect from the guys next to you and there's only one way that happens.I doubt the O line sees significant time together.
Between Salehs philosophy of limiting the big guys reps and 3 of 5 coming off surgery.. Hopefully they get more than the one series that last years line got though.
He ran the mimeograph machine. And Patriots fans think that his months as an intern 40 years ago have made Goodell some sort of Jets sycophant.
I think three of the pieces for the long term are in place, including the two most important. I could see Fashanu at LT and Tippmann at C for the long haul. AVT, if he proves that his injuries are behind him, locks down one of the guards for years. That's pretty decent. I don't know if Simpson will be a part of that formula for the long haul or not. My sense is unless he looks amazing, he's a stopgap. He's still young enough to be a permanent fixture, but I don't know if he is on the caliber of the others. It takes years to really build an offensive line into a cohesive unit, not weeks.
Without reps together, it could look like a herd of cats out there.

I'm inclined to agree with your assessment here. Simpson, if he can reduce his penalties, might very well be here for awhile. I'm not sure what contributed to his penalty numbers but in all fairness he might have been asked to do more than his share. I didn't look at any tape. Like you said, he's young, and since he's now in a new system all that might change. Other than penalties he has been pretty reliable and I'm anxious to see, and optimistic about how, he will do here.I think three of the pieces for the long term are in place, including the two most important. Having a QB who scrambles a lot will lead to a lot of holding calls. The slow release and mobility in and outside the pocket can put a lot of strain on the OL. I'm not sure whether his penalties were mostly holdings or other calls.I'm inclined to agree with your assessment here. Simpson, if he can reduce his penalties, might very well be here for awhile. That's a good point.Having a QB who scrambles a lot will lead to a lot of holding calls. The slow release and mobility in and outside the pocket can put a lot of strain on the OL. I'm not sure whether his penalties were mostly holdings or other calls.
Julius Caesar injuries were behind him too. look what that got him.I think three of the pieces for the long term are in place, including the two most important.
