Adams is an exceptional player. That being said I don't believe that he is anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. He believes that he is the greatest player to ever grace an NFL field. He simply is not. With Adams it's all about him. McDougald, on the other hand, is a team player and is fully capable of doing everything that Jamal did while he was here. I love this move by JD. I don't think we lost a thing in the deal, except maybe a conceited loud mouth. WELCOME BRADLEY McDOUGALD ! !

I can’t agree that we didn’t lose a thing. Adams is a very good safety and has the ability to inspire those around him with his enthusiasm. That said, we 100% won on this trade. The downgrade from Adams to McDougald is WAY made up for with 2 firsts and an upgrade from a 4th to a 3rd. The whole team player and no me first attitude of McDougald is a huge plus as well.

As I said Adams is an exceptional player but McDougald is no slouch. He is also known as a very good team leader. You are correct that he is a downgrade from Adams. I think PFF had him rated 45 or so among all safeties, not sure there. but McDougald is more skillful than most are aware of. He's a multi-position player with very good ball skills. While he's only credited for a half sack in the last 2 seasons he's still disruptive. He's fast enough to keep up with most receivers and has had 5 interceptions which is more than Adams. Downgrade ? Yes, he's certainly not on par with Jamal but not enough to hurt the team especially with several key starters coming back into the line-up like Mosley. My belief is that the defense will be just fine without Adams on the roster and the pot of gold we got in addition to the player should more than off set the downgrade from Jamal.
