@Jets Global Welcome New York Jets Second Round Selection Pick 36 RB Breece Hall from Iowa State, Enjoy!!!
I doubt that seriously! Carter is a beast I will admit but not a #1 bell cow back. Breece is exactly that! I think they will make a dynamic 1-2 punch and probably combine for about 1300 rushing yards, and about 500 combined catching yards and 50 catches. I’d say about 15-20 combined tds.The best thing about him is his vision. I think Carter is a better RB
That’s what makes for good conversation . I think Carter is the better back . The great thing about it is that the Jets have 2 great backs . I will never compare our Jets to any stinking fish so I will just say that we have a much improved McNeil and Hector . Let’s just hope they can become a better set the Boozer and Snell .I disagree with you Tinstar. Breece is our Csonka. Carter is our Kiick. We have our own Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
If you noticed, I stayed away from the RB1 - RB2 comparison. I said I think he’s the better back . Like you said, at the end of the day what you do on the field is what’s going to make the difference . This much is known this far, the Jets had no problem with Carter in the backfield on passing downs . Not picking up blitzes or snatching passes out of the backfield. Hall might be a bigger more physical back, but the bar has been set pretty high by Carter .When Mike was drafted all the experts said he is going to be the best third down back for the Jets. Then when the season started he got the majority of the carries and those same experts quickly retracted and said the Jets got a steal, and Carter could be that lead guy going forward. He is a well rounded guy, almost on the same level as another do it all back in Bilal Powell who never got the recognition. Mike will show that he is more than capable again this season but to have a more physical point of attack rusher in Breece will allow the Jets to mix use both of them in both run or pass scenarios. The notion of who is RB1 is irrelevant. Just like Breece said I am going to come in and help this team, ask question to Mike and learn from him. End of the day we have a dual headed rush attack and when it is all said n done end of the season the player with the better yards per carry average, yardage overall both rushing, and yards from scrimmage can then say who is RB1 and who is the compliment. But right now Carter has proven to be that guy maybe not by some fans but by the Jets front office.
Mike Carter luckily fell to us, the Jets front office were planning to take him in the 3rd round last year but had to use both 3rds to move up for AVT in the first round due to a second team trying to volley up the boards. Breece Hall is the best back in this class I said that for the longest time, even had disputes where people were saying Spiller, or Walker was on the same level. Look at the end result, one not only taken the highest but was considered to be a first round selection if the team could of sync'd the trade with the Packers.
Once drafted it means squat. Not where your drafted, that only matters for the contract monies. End of the day back to square one, go learn the play book. Go get familiar with your team mates. And finally shut up and play. Meaning go execute and help the team win, whatever happens during the season as long as he is healthy and on the field producing all this secondary noise about who is RB1 RB2 or practice squad Back 1 doesn't matter.
