Wentz, Lynch and Dak and this past draft!

Silly that most are believing the 3 rookies are all going to be great after a few games. I believe that the old theory of 6 rolls of film in the can shows the flaws and, more than likely, all three will be neutralized. People are generally suckers for whatever the supposed NFL gurus say.
All we know is Fitz is who he is and won't ever yield anything different. We have 3 qb's who we may never know anything about because the current regime is convinced that wining is all that matters so they continue to play Fitz; but he won't really win anything. I believe this will lead to another succession of house cleaning in NY.

The cleaning house point I agree with. Especially if they stick with Fitz past this year. They have to get Petty or Hack on the field. The assessment on the rookie QBs I disagree with. I go off the eye test and the perception the team gives off about them. Wentz and Dak their teams love them and have their backs wholeheartingly. The eye test for me says these two are the truth. Same went for Cam, Wilson and Luck. Now I was fooled about Sanchez I will admit. Lynch I can't comment on because he's not on the field. However Siemian seems to have the goods. So does Garropolo but that could just be the Pats system. Which under Bill he seems to make all their QBs pro bowlers to HOFers.

They could but this is just ridiculous, for whatever reason. Like I said before, I guess it's just the Jets bad luck. Drafting Rodgers as Green Bay did worked out for them sitting him three years. Then again, they had no choice because look who he was playing behind. I'm sure if it was someone like Jeff George, Rodgers would have been year one after games 5-6 and I'm guessing he would have done just as well. Hell, he might have beat him out during training camp and pre season. Then you have QBs like Brady or Big Ben and Rivers who waited a few games to a year at most before they got in and it turned out well. Even Pennington waited a year and he would have been great for us if he wouldn't have caught the injury bug.

But look at all the QBs now that come in and are ready from game one. Whether they were drafted in round one or round four. Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz. Even the Browns rookie QB that started yesterday looked pretty good for them. Some of these teams may have even lucked up on drafting these guys (Wilson) and some seemed to not even want to draft that QB but they did (Dak). Why can't that shit happen for us? I was slowly thinking we struck gold with Sanchez the way he played his first two years with us but then it quickly hit me year three how wrong I was. It would just be nice if the Jets could find that diamond in the ruff (Dak) or even sell the farm for that sure fire hit like (Wentz).

Well, neither you nor I know what the best method is for developing a QB. There have been guys who have played right away who have succeeded, and guys who have played right away and have been busts. There have been guys who sat who have developed, and guys who sat who never materialized.

My inclination is that there is no better experience than being on the field, but that is hardly universal. If I really knew the best method, I'd have a job in the league, rather than posting about it on this board.

Indeed, it was a shame that petty got hurt because he did outplay everyone on the roster. Now saying that doesn't mean he is ready for prime time but I got to tell you some of his throws were a thing of beauty. He seem to elevate those around him, i.e., anderson, etc. I think if he gets the reps he needs to be fluid and not thinking he will surprise quite a few folks.

I know this is speculation on my part but we all know Fitz and GeNO are not the answers. IF fitz keeps ****ing in the bed my hope is TB will bench him and play petty espically if we are 1-5,6,7...

i go back far enough to remember us taking o'brien over marino, so forgive me (or don't) for not getting worked up about this just yet..

both petty & hackenberg have yet to take a regular season snap..

one or both theoretically could still end up being the best of the bunch..

besides, it's plenty hard enough living & dying with this franchise without the woulda, coulda, shoulda stuff..

for me at least.....

Very well stated.

Let's re-evaluate in about two years before drawing serious conclusions.

Now this I can definitely agree with. That makes two us that would be working in the league making these decisions.

Your man Prescott has shown a lot. Now, we've seen flashes before, so it is far too early to draw long-term conclusions, but it's a good start so far.

A very good start and Wentz looks even better. Dak would look great in a Jets uniform doing that for us right now but oh well!
