I am keeping the faith...

Couple of thoughts...
1. If you read up on Mono - apparently lethargic symptoms begin several weeks prior to sore throat - so game one Sam was probably Sick
2. The Jets arent putting him on IR because they expect him back sooner than 2 months - that is a positive
3. Losing Quincy does nothing really - he was invisible last game
4. Line will be better if we can overcome the 3 injuries on the oline for this week
5. If Trevor plays better than Darnold last week - we have a real shot (and if you consider how sick Sam was it should be easy for Trevor to shine)
6. Bell is healthy and should blow up Cleveland just like the RB last week did to them
7. If Gase remembers about Ty we wont miss Quincy
8. Mosley missing will stink - but if Adams steps up as a leader this week and somehow our corners play their best game of the season - we have a shot.
9. If our kicker can kick...

Everyone wants to count us out because of Sam and Quincy - It is not like Sam is Aaron Rodgers yet. At this stage in his development Trevor isnt any worse to be fair. Quincy hasnt been good in a very long time. So what has changed? The only diff is we didnt beat Buffalo. Other than that our corners still suck, our oline is still learning to communicate, and our kicker is a question mark. Most analysts said before the season we have 6-7 wins this season. Realistically nothing has changed. This team was suck-mode and still is.

What if the Browns come in overconfident? What if now that Sam is out they think this is an easy win and read all the press releases and believe it. What if the Jets play hard and win the game they arent supposed to win. LOL We never do that (sarcasm). Look it would be soooo Jets to win this game just to get us sucked in so they could break our hearts in the end of october and november. Just enough to ruin our fall. Lets be clear - the Jets could win this game get us excited and lose to the patriots the following week by 50 points. We have seen it all before. Might as well enjoy this Monday - it will be either the end of our season like everyone predicts - or the one good game of our season before we collapse back into irrelevancy.

All excellent points and makes sense. No matter what happens Monday night, we still are getting BEAT DOWN next week and mostly likely the three weeks after that. So it is what it is!

The early part of the schedule is brutal. Now add in Herndon out for the first four games, Darnold out, Mosley out. The team is going to get off to a rough start. Possibly 1-5, or even 0-6. If they were 2-4, they might still be in the wild card hunt.

But they'll get those guys back for the second half of the season. So once it's over, once Jets fans have written off the season and start thinking about the draft pick, the team will go on a run against a much easier schedule and ruin that good draft pick. It likely won't be enough for a playoff spot, but it will frustrate fans to no end.

OTOH, if we draft in the top 5 the usual suspects will tell us we must take another 300lb DL as he is 'BPA' and none of the players we need justify the value of the pick.

Well at least our defense did a pretty good job considering our offense. Gase had every right to be mad at Mac. He killed this team - the oline is a joke. I love they benched trumaine though.
