What about Josh McDaniels?

Sorry I keep writing off Todd Bowles, but I just don't see him surviving this season with Woody Johnson as our perpetual owner.

Consider this,

Christian Hackenberg thrived under Bill O'Briens offensive scheme at Penn State. Unfortunatly we cant pry away O'Brien from Houston. Next best thing is a former Head Coach who would not only develop Christian, but groom him under game plans that he was the most comfortable at college.

Thoughts?

My personal opinion is that would be the worst possible HC hire. Josh McDaniels sucked in Denver and actually drafted with a 1st rounder no less, Tim Tebow. He also could NOT control Brandon Marshall. Marshall was a constant problem being an annoyance under McDaniels. He was just a terrible HC IMO. He also would never be given Belichick's blessing to make such a move. Belichick does not want his assistants going to work for division rivals, let alone the Jets.

This is also to ignore a truly GREAT assistant from the Jets coaching staff. Mike Westhoff is a legend in the area of ST's. If assistants ever get into the HOF, Dick Lebeau will go 1st, but Westhoff should go right behind him.

Westhoff is home grown has should be given a shot at the HC job. There is no one more qualified as an assistant.............

Todd isn't going anywhere. He will be the HC in 2017... Whether we like it or not. A lot of soul searching needs to happen this off-season.

If the team wants an offensive guy, Todd needs to be replaced by Todd...Haley.

I give Todd another year to see what affect he has over a3 year term. By that point we can hire Harbaugh away from Michigan.

I am not sure Harbaugh ever leaves that job. He may have settled into his dream job.

I think you may be right but I also think he wants to get into the NFL and not only win a Super Bowl but he really wants the 49'ers to look as awful as possible.

ultra competitive guy, from an ultra competitive family.. plus, he's a former NFL QB.. all positives for us in my book..

i just can't see him leaving michigan for, well, the jets.....

He's improved Michigan greatly, I don't think he will leave them in the lurch, so another year to recruit and build until he personally will think about leaving.

That gives us a year to sort out the qb situation, no qb no coach.

So either we find our qb, and/or know what Bowles is made of, or we make Harbaugh an offer he can't refuse.
