If Rodgers goes down then the season is already over, nothing to do with Wilson coming in.
OL still is a concern.
Becton might have to eat them because he apparently can't stop them by blocking at the moment.
Think Sherwood is going to replace Alexander. Hard to predict his play due to such small sample size, but he was effective in limited action

Becton is dealing with knee soreness, was pulled yesterday and sat out today's practice, uncertain if he will be able to practice tomorrow. Brown is pretty much a lock to start at LT. Per Saleh "He will be extremely difficult to unseat.

That's where he has been struggling with his new physique. May have lost a little strength with the large amount of weight loss. Now having knee issues which are not related to his current size.
I guess by saying this I'm being Monday morning qb. But barring injury to Brown, I don't think Becton has any chance at becoming this starting LT out of camp.
It depends how long he's down for and if anyone else is injured. If Rodgers misses 2-3 games and there aren't any other significant injuries, then the Jets are still a playoff team.
I have a feeling if he plays well this preseason he will be immediately traded before the season starts.
My other thoughts on Becton....last pre-season he said he was ok playing RT...Douglas may have been reluctant to get rid of him because getting rid of him would become an admonition that the 2021 draft was an abysmal failure. I don't think that's still the case.
It is how you present it. Tell him he can be a swing guard & that he will be "sandwiched" in between the center & tackle.
My thoughts on the situation are, the first injury was a freak injury (having someone roll up on your leg is going to wipeout anyone). His second injury seems to be a rush to get him back on the field and reinjuring the same leg.
So I'm not one to judge a player for things outside of his control. He showed great promise as a rookie (and he is clearly talented and has size you can't teach). Whether the team mishandled his recovery or his weight/size contributed to it, we will never really know. If he wants to be here and is healthy, we should give him a shot. If he doesn't work out, then trade him or let him walk, but don't hold him back or treat him like a red headed step child because you don't like what he said.
I don't see a disgruntled player in Becton. I see someone who is upset with how things went down, but is still giving max effort to get back on the field. Dude hasn't asked for a trade, he's asked for an opportunity. We can't have a Front Office that is so thin skinned that they get butt hurt the second a player says something.

Not yet. I think Wilson's injury is a minor sprain and he is going to be fine. Lazard/Hardman/Cobb/Davis should be able to hold down the fort and give A-Rod plenty of targets and security blanket if Wilson needs some time.
Not to beat a dead horse but this is exactly why I wanted Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Passing is up and teams are deploying WR #1 & #1A. You can never have too many targets out there, and defense are forced to pick their poison and can't cheat doubling #1. It gives you options and some security if injuries pop up.
Will McDonald seems to be killing in camp and may be a difference maker on the edge, but really how many DE's do we need on the roster? We seem to ignore some positions and overindulge on others.
