What bothered me the most about the Jets draft

hes had five years to improve the line but the jets still field a below average unit. We’ll see.

I think it’s pretty straightforward, actually. People are talking about how horrible the line is, and yet they were ranked in the top half of the league in sacks allowed. I’m not saying that’s great or anything, but 19 other o-lines did a worse job keeping their QB’s upright. Do those o-lines all suck, too?

The Jets big problem wasn’t pass protection. It was run blocking, where they ranked near the bottom. I agree that improvements were needed, and acquiring KO should help. But like most fans, I would’ve preferred to have seen maybe one more interior lineman added other than Compton. I don’t know what the plan is, but I know they’re not playing the Bills until Sept 8th, so there’s still time to pick someone up after cut downs.

Let me try one more time. Let's say quarterback "x" drops back to pass and his entire offensive line lays down on the ground and takes a nap without attempting to block at all. Quarterback "x" then begins running for his life and runs into the end zone for a touchdown. Let's say this play happens every time quarterback "x" takes a snap for an entire season. At the end of the year quarterback "x's" offensive line has not given up a sack.

Now let's look at another example. Quarterback "TB" drops back to pass and he stands in the pocket reading a magazine and eating a hotdog waiting for someone to get open while his offensive line blocks for him relentlessly. 15 seconds later quarterback "tb" throws a touchdown pass to a wide open receiver while a little man who looks like the grim reaper cheers from the sideline. Let's say this same play happens every time qb "tb" steps back to pass for the entire season except for one time. This one time happens week 16 vs. The Jets. On this play a defensive lineman , let's call him "QW", Bull rushes through quarterback " tb's" offensive line and drops him hard on his ass causing a fumble...And he is not called for a penalty

quarterback "x" was pressured every time he dropped back to pass
for the entire season but was not sacked once. Quarterback "tb" was pressured only once all year but was sacked on the play because he has zero mobility. Which qb has the better offensive line?
