So you'd then root for the Bills and Rex? Lol

Did I say that?

I would do what I did from 1958 until 1962 when the Mets were formed

I would root FOR no team

I would ignore and not watch an instant of NFL football

I would passively root for the team that deserted my home to go 0-16 forever

First, and I've said this before on several Jets boards in the past with some supporting market data, it will NEVER happen. Sure, if in 20 years NJ decides no way, no how are they building a new stadium, the NFL could help the team move out of NJ, but NEVER out of the NY Metro market. Not a single one of the arguments that any other team has made, successfully or not, to leave their market exists in NY.

That said, if I'm 100% honest, what I'd do probably has something to do with how things were going at the time. If we've won 3 super bowls in 4 or 5 years, the team has likely given me so much enjoyment over that period that I'd find it very hard to drop them. On the other hand, if it was at the end of the Kotite 'era', or 1-15, or similar, their moving might give me just the argument that I need to convince myself that it was time to move on :D

I'd just be an NFL fan. If there were no name change, I'd probably consider a long distance relationship, lol

no, i disagree.. i'm a born & raised NYer who's lived in maryland for 10+ years & i would have a huge problem with the jets leaving the metropolitan area.. enough so, i think i would cut bait & wait for NY to get another AFC team..

morbid thread BTW.. :(

My reaction was similar. But when that spawn of the devil (I use not his name) moved my Brooklyn Dodgers away, there were rumors that several existing National League teams would be moving to New York. So I rooted for them (Pittsburgh and Cincy) in the interim until the Mets were born. They both won the pennant, and stayed in their cities.

As for the teams that moved away, destroying the hopes, dreams, livelihood and neighborhoods of countless thousands, when they now play each other on the West Coast, I root for the San Andreas Fault.

If the Jets were to move, I would wish them a similar fate, but would then root for another old AFL team, probably the Raiders, to move to New York.

I'd be looking for a rip off Jameis Winston jersey on line.

I'd buy a rip off in case he goes sideways and I have to burn it. :)

I would be devastating, as would every Jets fan (especially die hard Jets fan like myself). I would probably just stop watching football all together and if I did, I just wouldn't root for a team.

I guess it depends if they move, change the colors, and even the name then possibly I would. I honestly could not tell you until I would be faced with the decision and what other changes if any would be made.

Being from Dallas and picking the Jets because of the color green at the time and Gastineau, I would still follow them. I don't really care that they are from NY/NJ. I have been to NYC and Meadowlands many times. I would rather watch them on TV. NYC is not for me. It would also depend on where they moved to. I can't imagine what home grown fans from these cities feel like.

why would the nfl want to move the jets from a major mkt. like new York?

LOL

Not to mention that the Jets have like 15 years left on their 20 year commitment.

What the hell , on a Jets board I guess it's better then talking about how bad we want the Pats to lose.

Why would they want to move a team from the LA area?

Anyway, it was a hypothetical. To put us in the place of the suffering Ram fans
