1. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets (I can now never root for any other NFL team, NEVER!!!)

Although I must admit, I've never been a Giants fan but I was rooting for the Giants in their SBs back in the Parcells erra because that hatred wasn't there for the Giants at that time. Plus I truly respected Parcells, LT and Harry Carson and loved the way he coached and they played. The hatred truly came in after they won their first two SBs because it was glaring that we were the little brothers of NY-NJ.

Which truly all started when we moved to the Meadowlands in the 80's IMO. I rooted for the Giants in both their SBs against the Pats because I hate the Pats that much more then I hate the Giants. I hate the Giants just that much now after their 4 SBs wins and all the BS our Jets have gone through surrounded around the Giants, I could never root for them again in any scenario!

2. Knicks
3. Nets
4. Mets
5. Yankees
6. Syracuse University (all sports)
7. Any NY-NJ hockey team (although I'm not a hockey fan at all.)

  4. Whoever is playing the Bills that week

If the AFCE teams are playing the Giants, I root for the Giants because its in our divisional interest.

If the AFCE teams are playing each other, I root for the one with the lesser record or I view as less threatening.

And if the Jets are officially or unofficially eliminated from contention because they stink, I root for the higher draft pick.

Thats how I choose which teams I root for or against on a weekly basis, and it varies depending on the circumstances.

SPECIAL NOTE: If the season is winding down and its clear the Jets are going nowhere, then I actively root against No. 1 on the above list, my own team, because technically I view that as rooting FOR the Jets (see: rooting for the higher pick).

Those are really the only 5 teams I root for.

I've always kind of liked the Seahawks since they were an expansion team in the 70's. I liked their colors and I had a Seahawks jacket for a while when I was 8 or so.
