We have a good draft position for every position but QB. We have great cap space compared to most teams. So as I see it KC should be our QB. This plus our draft should get us the rusher we need,, the Cb we need, the Wr we can use & three on the ol (including FA.'s)

We can get six top years from KC's plus two or three more if he turns out to be top shelf. The draft pos. just knocks our chances of picking up what we want. Trading up is costly also. so lets take a QB that is low risk with a high ceiling.......if we can. Overpay yes but not if it is too high. Bridgewater would be good at a lower cost. I just don't feel good about us drafting a qb this year

There will be other teams with the money bidding for Cousins I think, but it boils down to who is willing to part with the most money. I think we have a shot and if we do get him we could shore up the "O" line and the defense as well mostly through the draft. There are some good opportunities in free agency to fill holes of need also. We could add another QB to sit behind him later in the draft like possibly Rudolph. We could be in pretty decent shape. Bridgewater would be OK if we can't get Cousins but there is a concern that his knees won't hold up. With that in mind I'd say Cousins is worth the extra money.

Only the Browns. San Francisco has their QB and the Browns have 2 prime picks and with the#1 overall can have any QB in the draft.
No one else has close to the cap space we have.
I'd be happy with Bridgewater as a consolation prize though as long as his knee checks out. Cheaper and younger.

I read somewhere that we had the forth highest cap space, can't remember where, but not all of those with more money than us will be looking for a QB anyway so I think we are in good shape there. You're right about Bridgewater being cheaper and younger but there are a lot of people with more knowledge of his situation than me who also have stated real concern about his knees. I'd certainly give him a shot if he can get past our team doctors though.

The other teams that are close, 49s, Colt's and Browns have their QB or as I said The Brown's have the Ideal shot in the Draft. They could go for cousins and trade that pick too but as it stands I think the Jets have a very good chance if he hits Free agency.
I don't know where Bridgewater is at with his knee , it's a definite concern and I expect any team to thoroughly investigate it. MRIs etc.
Going to be a very interesting off-season. For some reason I am still optimistic about the future of the Franchise. I see signs that were heading in the right direction.

I agree Tony! But when I lay all the cards on the table i see this as the best way to go. I am sure my other team wants him but I really think Washington is crazy t let him run lol

They might still tag him just to keep another team from snatching him up or at least have the opportunity to match the offer.

You know my thoughts from the old Forum. I'm all in . I don't think this QB class is as great as advised. We're looking at the 3 rd best QB if we trade up, giving up picks we need to continue rebuilding the roster.
And if we get 5 - 8 years from Cousins ,
Hack just might be ready to play when Cousins retirees.:global (59):
Seriously though, cousins , draft Barkley if available. O line , add Ziggy Ansah , a corner and possibly WR in FA and we're a playoff team, young with all our draft capital to continue improving.

Ha Ha. I doubt that Hack will be here beyond this next season unless he turns into superman during that time. There's a reason they won't let him play. I don't know what it is but I'm betting it isn't good.

$34 million plus to tag him, with other needs doesn't make sense. They need to lock him up before free agency or he's going to walk.they have $52 million projected with the increase.
They will only have $18 million if they franchise him , $8 mill goes to sign the draft picks and $10 mill left. Can't really improve the roster with that so they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Signing him long term gives them a chance to work the#s and improve the team. The tag prevents them that flexibility

I was joking about Hack, but I'm on record saying I will not be surprised if the plan is to play Hack this year, hence the 2 year extensions. If Hack fails, the ship builder (Mac) and captain ( Bowles) of the Titanic (Jets) get a last chance in 2019 with a drafted QB.
Not what I advocate, just something I can see happen.
