Will we ever get to the bottom of the Patriots' cheating without knowing the answer to that question?

Nobody has a job description on him. He pretty much spends all day researching how to get around the rules.

Allegedly he is the guy in the sky who transmits plays to Brady on the '2nd frequency' right up to the time of the snap. Why this is important is that NFL rules dictate that all communication stops 15 seconds before the play clock runs out, and at that time the coach's box frequency cuts out. Tremendous advantage in that you can switch plays based on personnel groupings and formations that are apparent from box. I believe that is why Ryan's defenses were pretty successful against Pats because he was able to disguise things with movement and flexible personnel groupings.

BTW - if you are wondering where this is coming from; Spygate where it is reported that backup QB Flutie at one point picked up the spare QB helmet by mistake and heard communications between Brady and Box (Adams) right up to the snap. Flutie didn't think it was a big deal at the time to mention it in an interview.

Can you imagine what the league would find if they ever did a spot inspection of the Pats' facility on some Friday or Saturday during the season? If they went through with a fine-tooth comb, what do we not know about that they would find? Bugged visitors' locker rooms? Signal-jamming technology? (Let's remember, several teams have complained about losing radio communications during drives, after crossing the 50.) What else?

The stadium was completed after Belichick jumped ship and went there. I'm sure he had a good bit of say in constructing it with his motives in mind.
