Jim Brown. That by virtue of the fact that he was better at his position then any other player was at his respective position. IMO you could plug Brown into any team in the NFL right now, that has a decent D, and they would be a play off contender. If you were asking MVP of all time I would say Brady. Only because in today's NFL the value of the QB position is so stacked by NFL rules that all other positions pale in comparison

It could be argued that Jim Brown was the greatest athlete in history. There are some lacrosse experts who consider him the best in that sport. He also was on the Syracuse University basketball team.

Sorry but imo there is no 1 clear cut Player GOAT in NFL because of many positions & changes in game rules & physical size & speed of game over the years. Now as position at RB I'd have to say Sanders who had a horrible O Line. Another reason is the modern age of NFL when guys were becoming bigger & faster than Jim Browns day. So Brown for his day & Sanders for now. QB is tougher because rules have changed along with physical athleticism. Montana/Marino & Peyton M/Brady with edge to Peyton over Brady with less talented Offense & could read defenses & audible better than any QB Ive ever seen. WR is Rice imo. Defensive,1 year is 86 Bears with 70's Steelers right behind for longevity. Offensive? Might be seeing it with the Pats & the versatility of being able to plug any position into the Offense & make it work to win. I like to put Oline & Dline as a unit of how good they played together. You could have a JJ Watt looking like a great player because the rest of Defense is garbage & makes him stand out . But not close to JJ's level. TE & FB? hmmm lots of choices but personal fav.I liked John Riggins at FB in a must have 3rd down situation. I dont know why Jets didnt keep him.
