Why can’t the Jets ever have nice things (Lamar Jackson)

It’s always something with this freaking team/organization, WHY??? It doesn’t seem to matter what the situation is, the Jets can never seem to have nice things and this has been the case since 1969! The Jets are either:

1. A constant dumpster fire and laughing stock of the league. The Adam Gase and Rich Kotite regime years are a perfect example of that. Ofcourse there are other Jets examples and coaches that fit this but those are the two that stand out to me.

2. Then you have the Jets teams that are mediocre at best but not even a contender for anything. They’re pretty much not even a real tease. I would say Todd Bowles and Eric Mangini teams fit here.

3. Then you have the Jets teams that are a playoff team but that’s about it. They are always missing something to get them over the top. Herm Edwards teams I think fit this mode. Maybe Al Groh also??? Eric Mangini could go here also with that 2008 Brett Farve team.

4. Then you have the contending playoff teams that you know deep down inside aren’t real contenders but somehow they go further than you think just to break your heart anyway. Rex Ryan’s regime is all over this. Joe Walton’s time also.

5. Then you have the true-true Jets contending teams that you truly believe in but they find away to yet break your heart anyway. You can’t figure out why but it happens anyway. Bill Parcells teams and Walt Micheals time.

6. Last you have the teams that are a real tease but they are just missing something. Whether it’s this or that or that or this, they’re just missing something. Most of the time we all know exactly what it is. Can we say Robert Saleh anyone?

Agree with me or not, we all can agree that this organization always finds away to break your hurt! For whatever reason, it just always seems to happen. SMDH!

Dude. Take a chill pill. Jesus H Christ come in off the ledge and have some fun.............this game is fun gdamnit.

On the BRIGHT SIDE Geno Smith is off the board as the Seahawks re-upped him for 3yr 105mil. See? One Less mistake to worry about.

What would the Jets record be with Geno's stats this year I wonder?

Well you could also ask what would the Jets record be if they had the WRs Seattle had too.
I don't think Geno would have the same year he had, with the personnel on this roster and the injuries We had. No way.

My point here is that this all seems to be mainly a dumpster fire since 1969. Yes they have had spirts here and there of success but it always ends up in heart ache. This all seems to be centered around the fact that the Jets haven’t had a franchise QB since Joe Willy Namath. This is also the reason the Jets seem to have had 50 million different head coaches since that 1969 coaching staff also.

We can contribute other reasons around the failures of this organization but by and large, QB seems to be the main factor. The only true drafted potential franchise QB they’ve had since Broadway Joe is Pennington and injuries killed his career. Yes Ken O’Brien and Richard Todd were decent, maybe even better than decent but they just didn’t seem to have it. Not from what I remember anyway!

The Jets have hit on drafted duds in so many positions it’s not even funny. Especially at QB! Mark Sanchez held back the 2009 and 2010 teams. Pennington once again couldn’t stay healthy. Geno, Darnold and Z. Wilson were/are garbage. With us anyway! Is any other drafted QB even worth mentioning, I don’t think so. This hurts even worse being that the Giants seem to hit on franchise QBs and we can’t!

The Jets have drafted probably about 20-plus QBs since Joe Namath and hasn’t hit on one of them. For whatever reason it just hasn’t worked out. Hence the reason the Jets have had 20-plus Head coaches since their Super Bowl victory as well. If we’re talking about free agent or traded QBs, that hasn’t worked out that great either. Better than the drafted ones but still disappointments nonetheless!

Vinny T was the best for us and brought us our brightest moments but he got injured also. Plus he was old as hell when he came to the Jets. Brett Farve was pretty much the same. The one year he was with us. Neil O’Donnell and Boomer Esiason were flops. Ryan Fitzpatrick was a blip on the screen also. No body else worth mentioning that I can think of. This is now 60-years of heart ache, will this every change?

Which brings me to this off season. They lost out on Carr and A-Rod is just too unpredictable. Are they stuck with Jimmy G, trade for Jackson or get some rejects like Mariotta, J. Winston or Tannehill? I trust in this regime or at least I want to. So I want to believe they will make the right moves here. They have hit so far on their free agents, trades and draft picks. Biggest one they’ve missed on was Zach Wilson.

Nobody who is truly a Jets fan can be blamed for showing frustration once in a while. The Jets are the best at causing that. Betterto remain a Jet with hope and loyalty than to change teams.

I remember that Jets team, it was before Namath. They lost a big one to the Sharks 2-1 on a last minute long shot by Chino, who wasn't even one of the Shark's starters

Yes I am, we all are and that what hurts so much! I’ve been a fanatic of this team since 1982. Some of you for much longer than that and this team has crushed us for 40-plus years. WTF man!!!

To answer the original question:

There are good businesses and bad businesses, many factors are involved. In any typical industry, bad businesses are either absorbed by their stronger competitors or just wither and disappear. The NFL is different, the share the biggest part of their revenue (TV) and that buoys up bad businesses so they can underperform almost indefinately. Further, the consumers eagerly buy the bad product.

Solution? Start over from the head (J&J) down and that looks unlikely

No that will most likely will never happen! So is there something else??? So far JD and Saleh haven’t done bad at all with their moves. Zach Wilson and Becton appears to be they’re only two true draw backs. So maybe they can be the answer here. This years off season moves will tell the tale, especially at QB.

Makes me feel like singing:

When you're a Jet
You're a Jet all the way
From your first fumbled ball
To the badly called play.

When you're a jet
you're a defensive man
and You're offensive only
'to the fans in the stands.

You really can't win
(music interlude)
You're never gonna' get it.

You'll never win
(music interlude)
Cause the league's out to get us.
