Seems extremely ODD!! Will all the contract restructurings, player releases, new signings and rumors all come in one announcement?
Silence means one of two things, either there's a secret worth keeping, or there's nothing happening.Loose lips sink ships.
I would MUCH rather have a front office that doesn't have the kind of leaks the Jets had under Rex and Tanny/Idzik.
well i believe the reigning NFL executive of the year has a secret/secrets worth keeping on march 8th.. he better.....Silence means one of two things, either there's a secret worth keeping, or there's nothing happening.

They better have some secrets worth keeping... Pat Kirwan ran down how he'd save like $15-20M in cap space in like 60 seconds the other day, mentioned all of the usual suspects including a nifty thing where you load Fitz and a few others with makeable bonuses that he didn't hit last year (i.e., making the playoffs, and some individual things) because they don't hit your cap until next year even if he makes them in 2016. His point being that next year you should have Mo figured out one way or another and some other things that will give you some breathing room. Seemed pretty simple, I guess maybe overly so but Kirwan seems to know what he's talking about.Silence means one of two things, either there's a secret worth keeping, or there's nothing happening.

The jets need leverage to rework contracts. If the player knows you can't easily replace him, he can refuse a pay cut. Especially if the players think they might stink this year, why take a pay cut to have a bad year? They better have some secrets worth keeping... The leverage is restructure vs. cut, or that total value goes up and/or you add years - which obviously has its risks. IIRC, Kirwan also said that Brick could be a cap casualty instead of a restructure. The jets need leverage to rework contracts. Yes, I would just add that brick could say go ahead cut me, if there's no realistic replacement for him. We're talking about the top guy on the market getting 10 million. Brick might rightfully think it's not worth Cutting him to bid on a fa who might not want you.The leverage is restructure vs. cut, or that total value goes up and/or you add years - which obviously has its risks.
