Maybe the Jets will be passing way more because Carpenter sucks at run blocking as well. Hope they draft someone or get somebody else after cuts.
Not a bad keep on the cheap for vet depth, but we need one of these young guys (Aboushi, Winters, Dozier) to step up.

Colon is being resigned to compete, and hopefully set a fire under the a$$es of Winters and Aboushi. Winters was actually horrible when he was playing. He was better than Vlad Ducasse, but that isn't saying anything. I thought Aboushi played best, but I still like the idea of the Jets getting Colon involved in that competition.
The Guard play has been terrible since Faneca was cut and later Moore was cut. I think the tackles are just fine, if we could just get decent Guard play.

veteran's minimum with (assumedly) no guaranteed money. not even guaranteed to make the roster. kind of like the small bonuses paid to pace and babin, although in this case, zero negative cap consequences if he doesn't make the team
Theres no harm no foul on this deal...like someone else alluded to..insurance....and not a lot of money...
My biggest issue with Willie are the penalties. Pre-snap and temper related penalties. If he can clean that stuff up, I'm content with him as a player.
yep the guy is a penality waiting to happen... hopefully Todd will kick his ass and get him straight.
I like old Willie being a born & raised Brooklyn guy; however, I can't see him making next years 53. Coach Bowles does not tolerate mistakes or penalties. He might end up in Buffalo with Rex who loves "bullies" !

I wish there was a way we could just pre-pay for all Willie Colon's penalty yardage.
Maybe we could get a volume discount if we took all the yards at once.
We could go to the league and just say, "Look, we know Willie's going to generate 200 penalty yards this season, how about if we just give you 180 yards right now and make it easier on your referees?"
It's a win-win proposition.
