I'm a bit surprised, I assume it's just a learning lesson for Wilson and he's back in the next few weeks. He'll be benched for good sometime next year and will be a backup somewhere in '24

meanwhile, the D will keep them from any high draft choices for awhile so it is going to be interesting to see what the GM does

This defense is going to crush the Bears. Not a great game to judge White from, but this team needs to rally around him.

Had to be done. As much as I never wanted this to happen with this kid. I was hoping he was truly the one but it appears either he isn’t or he needs this to help him get focused and gets his shit together. We’ll see!

The defense is going to be on the sidelines when White is taking snaps. No reason why we can't evaluate White. There is no reason why he can't play well enough to keep the job, the offense (when fit) is a lot more talented than when he last had the keys. An interesting question is who comes on if White is injured early, is Wilson still the #2 or does Flacco get the nod?

Update: NY Post says Wilson is #3, behind Flacco, for Bears game.

We haven’t! I don’t think we have a QB on this roster that is talent and potential wise better than Zach. Now can they manage this offense better than Zach, maybe so but I seriously doubt that also! We’ll see!

Man, this has gone south but fast. ZW was given the keys to the franchise. All he needed to do was play competently. For whatever reason, that ability has mostly escaped him. Kinda sad really. If ZW busts out, that'll be three top five picks who failed miserably.

Just read that Flacco will be the backup on Sunday, with ZW inactive. Wow. Although Saleh gave ZW some light through the clouds:

"Zach's career here is not over," Saleh said. "I know that's going to be the narrative and I know that's what everybody wants to shout out, but that's not even close to the case. The full intent is to make sure Zach gets back on the football field this season. When that is, I'll make that decision. I'll take it day-to-day."

Watched Saleh's press conference and he handled it perfectly in my opinion. And he is right Zach has the talent. He should have always sat for at least a year. That was definitely a mistake by the coaching staff. As far as I'm concerned Mike White is the QB of the Jets until proven otherwise. He has an extra weapon that he didn't have last year, but his OL might be just as bad if not worse. The thing he does have is a little more age and maturity and a defense that can win him games. Just drive the bus Mike White.
