Hard to trust Mikey Mac Drafting & my whole idea of him being a good GM was him being a scout & be able to know & draft good Players with sound reasoning. That hasnt been the case. Williams was a no brainer being the number 1 player ranked in the Draft falling to Jets. But all other Draft Picks are just crazy & MM's logic is also crazy. Drafting LB Lee because solely based on speed & QB Hakenburger based on Freshman year in College. I rather MM put Names of top 10 ranked players mixed up on a Dart Board & throw a dart .

I think based on what was in front of the Jets last off season. They made the right decision on Fitz and handle it perfectly.. They knew he was probably just a good fit for them, no one else wanted him at a high price, 12 million was a bargain...... All signs pointed to an offense that would be as good if not better than the year before. Unfortunately Fitz digressed hard and no one really saw that coming. So using the Fitz decsion as an example of the FO office making poor decisions is weak at best,

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who objected to bringing Fitz back last year. There were disagreements about how much he should've gotten, but based on 2015, everyone wanted him back.

It was a no-brainer at the time. Macc would've been crucified if Fitz hadn't been re-signed.

Negative, not everyone wanted him back. There were a few of us that didn't believe Fitz could do it again and wanted to go in another direction and I was one of them. Now speaking for me and me only, I wasn't so bent on them resigning him but I was hoping they would have drafted a QB that would have beat him out for the job (Dak Prescott). Or maybe Geno or Petty would have beat him out for the job. Crazy idea right??? Wait, they did draft a QB, who didn't do squat for us last year. Maybe this year he'll step up.

I emphasized that the level of interest in bringing back Fitzpatrick varied. I don't recall anyone saying "forget Fitz, he's not going to repeat 2015". I could be wrong, but I honestly don't have the energy or time to go through archives to confirm it.

I recall a consensus of opinion that we needed Fitz back on a reasonable deal in order to remain competitive. Anyone who claims to have foreseen the enormous regression that this team, including Fitzpatrick, made in 2016 isn't fooling anyone. Nobody predicted it. We ALL expected much more of this team. "Fitzmagic" green tees with his big beard were everywhere. How quickly things changed...

Thats how I remember it as well, although I'm sure there was a dissenting view or two.

I want Jets to trade their first round pick to a known bad team for their first round pick in next years Draft & their 2nd round to us this year! That gives Jets 2 top 10 first round picks next year & mikey Mac can draft 2 QB's or trade both first round picks to move up to 1 if needed. Even with 2 first -top 10 picks I'm not sure Mikey Mac has the common sense to draft the right QB after what he has Drafted in the past, it tells me he is absolutely clueless on QB's. So again GM, trade our 6 pick for bad team 1st round next year & their 2nd this year!!!

After watching the combines and watching film I would be happy with :

1) Trubisky - Watched him at UNC. Like him better than Watson. Very accurate and a very good athlete (Don't think he will be available)
2) Watson - Great athlete, very good arm, throws a great deep ball. Worry about bad interceptions. However, we need to keep taking chances on a QB till we get one.
3) Fournette - want him especially if we pick up Glennon. Carry the rock 25 times per game. Force other team into 8 in the box.
4) Lattimore - Very impressive speed, coverage ability, man press and tackling, but a one year starter..Could fill this spot in Free Agency.
5) Peppers - hard to argue with getting him. Can play anywhere and play it well..

I'm gonna guess that Lattimore and Peppers ain't happening. Lattimore has got a Dee Milliner hamstring recurring problem and Peppers is sliding into 2nd round projections just about everywhere I look. Teams are weary of where exactly Peppers will play. I don't think we're gambling at #6 on either one.

Fournette is interesting to me, though. He's growing on me even though I hate the idea of drafting a RB that high.

Not me, play makers like Fournette don't come around so often. When you have the chance to get, you have to get him and don't look back. If Fournette can stay healthy, we're talking Elliot, Peterson and Bettis type ability here people. Staying healthy is a big if but isn't it with every player in the NFL???

Yes some players are more injury prone then others and I don't think that is this kids history (I hope not) but every player is prone to injury. Like the sayings goes, "It only takes one hit or every player is only one hit away!" I say grab him if the Jets are that high on him and from the outside looking in, I don't see why they wouldn't. Of course, this is strictly a outsiders looking in point of view.

Give me a stud on offense. Unless a pass rusher, the studs on defense are not as noticeable as a stud RB.

Jets must take the best player on the board at 6 & if Fournette is there Jets must take him. If a LB sack machine falls to Jets being 1 or 2 I'm fine with that choice. But right now it looks like Fournette is being under valued as a RB because some team below Jets wants him badly. This is the kind of crap NFL Teams do before Draft in hopes some dumb GM ,bites on it & takes a worse player. There is 2 teams below Jets that are crazy in love of Fournette & have now changed their tune about this game changing RB & that reason? Stupid GM's that fall for it n& Jets GM is the dumbest for falling for teams bs. Hence Hackenburg who wasnt on anyones top ten rookie QB's list in NFL & teams started hyping him & Jets GM bit taking him in 2nd round & having all other 31 teams GM's laughing at Jets & Mikey Macs wasting a 2nd pick & moving everyone up 1 pick. So Yeah I'm worried that Jets GM will take some lesser player or high risk CB that faces a good WR in division twice a year & MM thinks 2 games a year means 6th pick of CB. Especially when a RB plays every down & looks like the next Petterson & Jets takes some risky CB or worse. Oh well, no surprise Ive seen Jets pass on Franchise QB's-RB's since 1985 & I expect Jets pass on Fournette & take some big risk part time player. Fournette will have a big impact on any team taking him because the Defenses will have to account for him just being on the field & this opens up passing game.

I bet Fournette goes 4th to JAX.
Jax would be smart taking him. Bortles has shown the offense can't run on his arm. He was the worst in the NFL in passes defended. They have upgraded bigtime this off season on defense and getting a guy who can take the pressure off Bortles would be a wise move. He will also sell seats..

Agreed, makes way too much sense. I'm hoping it pushes down a guy like Jamal Adams. After reading about the injury issues of the two Alabama defenders (Allen and Foster), I hope we stay away from both. I was on a Foster kick for a while because I thought he would complete a good young LB corps, but the shoulder issue is really concerning. Besides, who wants another highly drafted, chronically injured, Bama guy.

OJ Howard, TE, Alabama

I like Howard but not that high.

We've gone through Johnny Mitchell, Kyle Brady in the first. Jets need to take the best player available. In the TOP 10, just my honest opinion, you never draft a tight end.
Mike Williams, Fournette, Cook, Hooker, Allen all have a shot at being a difference maker for the Jets. Howard is excellent, but Jets shouldnt waste a top 6 draft selection on that position. He's no Gronk. If we move back and acquire more picks and he's there at 13, sure im all for it.

Respectively disagree. I used to feel the same about the position, but times have changed in the NFL and particularly the importance of a TE with Howard's kind of ability. The kid has everything that a dominant TE possesses, and the potential impact would be enormous particularly for a team with young QBs.

My first choice is 1) Hooker S.
2) Adams S
3) Foster ILB
4) Fournette RB
If the Jets drafted Watson I'd be slightly optimistic for his skill set, but a bit mad knowing that's the end of Hackenberg or more importantly, a wasted 2nd round pick.
Anyone else I'd rather just trade back if available .Though one of my top four should be available.

If he turns into a healthy Gronk is there really too high of a spot? The only the that matters at #6 is the player be an impact player. Doesn't matter the position. To me its all about impact.
