I am not as negative on Woody as some other people but my colleague and I were talking today and he made a good point (imo) -- that all this talk about moving up could be as a result of Woody's need to grab the headlines.

I don't think he's that far off though. All accounts that I have read is that the qbs available are not worth trading up for.

Do you think Mac wants to make these splashy moves or is Woody meddling in his business again?

I agree that this is possible with Woody. Look he is not evil but he hurts the Jets. He is not good for the fans or the team.

If we drop 4 or 5 picks to move up to number 2, it will crush our future. If it was Idzik in charge I wouldn't care because his drafts were wastes of picks anyway.

I don't know of any solid evidence to prove this. It seems like Macc has complete control over personnel decisions. Woody doesn't strike me at all like an Al Davis or Jerry Jones type.

You are so right.

Mac has stated on more than one occasion that he talks to every team both above and below the Jets draft position to see what it would take to move into that spot. Then if he wants to make a move on draft day he can use that information to help him decide. I would call this due diligence. The media calls it a story and the headline reads : JETS TRY TO MOVE UP INTO #1 DRAFT POSITION. This is a prime example of how the media will twist the facts to create a story.

He's been better the last year, hopefully he's learned and changed, but from "I just want him gone" through the Manhattan folly and the Rex Ryan Circus, have to agree with butters, he's hurt the Jets.
