Would have Doug Marrone been the better choice?

Hind sight 20/20, it seemed like he would have been better than what we have now. A guy who went through the growing pains as a new head coach and had the Bills at a competetive level and on the rise. It seemed like when he opted out of his contract that he was a lock for a Maccagnan GM/HC marriage.

Though it seems as if Woody intervened allowing outiside influences, ala Manish Mehta's BS reports and slander sway Johnsons decision on pulling the plug on Marrone being a viable option.
If this is truly the case and Mac felt more comfortable with Doug than Todd, then Woody should take a step back and allow our GM work with what he feels whats best for this team.

I actually liked Marrone as our HC. I wouldnt be surprised if at the end of the year, if the Jets land a top three draft pick that Woody will release Bowles and sign Doug as our coach, probably admitting that it was his hand that forced Todd on Mike.

Well, we all know that just about anyone, including REX, would be a better choice than Toilet Bowles, also in hindsight??? Right? If you feel that way because I actually do, then YES Doug Marrone would have to be a better choice. I mean after all anyone is better than what we currently have.............Take it for what it is worth........

Todd Bowles does absolutely nothing on the sidelines. He's lifeless

I'm biased. Doug Marrone was a student of mine at Piagentini & Jones Intermediate School 192 in the Bronx. I hope that he gets another shot to be a head coach, whether here or somewhere else.

That's pretty cool. Always gotta root for people you know personally!

He was a cool kid. I have never forgotten how he showed his character. Doug was *much* bigger than anyone else (played offensive tackle in the NFL for a few years). One day a little twerp was trying to get under his skin and actually swiped at Doug. Doug could have broken the kid in half, but instead basically caught the swipe, smiled, and walked away. Very revealing of the kind of person he is.

With the lack of talent all coaches would fail with this organization.

There are many that could still have decent success with this roster. I understand you saying they lacking in talent, I look at the TE spot and think, "How could it be any worse?". However, there are also some areas that good HC could exploit like the DL and WR's. Bowles has made those units irrelevant..........

I think the general thinking in Buffalo is he walked out on the Bills and their fans. There has to be a lot of owners thinking he could do the same to them.........

I hear you, but that's not entirely accurate. The owner had died, the team was for sale and possibly moving to a different city. The new owners coming in had just recently become rich and decided they wanted to buy buffalo sport teams. I think most owners don't blame him for leaving a bad situation at the time. I just don't think he really excited anyone.

How good does rex look in Buffalo? Not quite incompetent anymore.

Rex looks the same in Buffalo as he did his last 4 years in NY. He is a DC at best just like Bowles.

Yes and no.

There have been Many coaches who werent given second chances until long after their first in the NFL.

Tom Coughlin pops ups. He had success with JAX then he never got a shot at the NFL level for almost a decade later.

Not sure what you're talking about. Tom was fired in 2002, sat out 2003, coached the giants in 2004 replacing him fassel.
