Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like this team has been improved in most all the areas that it needed improvements but I still feel like we may be worse than last year. is that even possible?

Joe Douglas has done a great job bringing in character guys that should make this team better without over spending on any high profile players. he's done as much in the short time that he's had as possible to improve this team. Heck, the offensive line has to be better eben with little time to gel don't they?

that is what we've begged for for years. then how come everyone has us with 6 or 7 wins? myself included

The Jets won several games at the end of last year against really bad teams or teams just mailing it in because their playoff position was set.
And several of those games were squeakers.
This year, the schedule is the 3rd toughest in the league and they won't get some lucky bounces.
So it will even out.
And I don't believe the players love Gase.

The schedule is brutal. I could see them actually play better and have a worse record simply because of the schedule. You want to be elite? This is the schedule you would play almost every season. This caliber at least. Lets see what ya got Jets.

this schedule is definately tough. brady leaves the division and the cheatahs go from having one of the easiest schedules every season, to this year having the hardest. our schedule differs from theirs by only 2 games. plus factor in that we play them twice while they get to play us twice. huge difference there

that said, last year our first, 7 or 8 games was it?, something like that, were totally brutal . I thought if we lost week 1 that we might be 0-7. then the end of the year was easy. one good thing is that we didn't give up after the season ending start. we still went out and beat those shitty teams. and to be great, all you have to generally do is what the cheatahs always did. they beat all the bad teams every time and they split with the 5 or6 good teams that they play.

yes, we could play better then last year and have a worse schedule. that would suck and would be bad for building confidence and belief in the system. and we will all be bitching about it for sure

O line may be marginally improved, WR position is the same or worse right now, DBs are worse, still no pass rush. Tougher schedule. Not expecting much.
That said, Douglas went cheap on every signing with the option to move on from most signings after this season. Fully expect Bell and Maye to be offered up prior to the trade deadline.
Next seaso , salaries will be down due to lower cap, at least 13 teams will be significantly over the Cap Saints at $71 million and Eagles at $79 million over.
Saints have been back loading contracts for years and now with the pandemic they have to release some top players same with several teams. Having massive cap room and being one of few teams in that situation, plus the extra draft capital already in hand , he can really capitalize next off season. I believe that was his plan once the lower salary cap was established.
