Zach compared to the other young star/superstar QBs

I know it’s not a comparison as of yet but I hope and pray one day it will be. Mahomes, J. Allen, Burrow, Herbert and D. Watson. These are five young QBs I believe you can depend on to win you a championship. Even these three other youngsters, K. Murray, Prescott and L. Jackson can potentially win you one, IMO.

These eight QBs are the future of the league being that Brady, Big Ben are done. Rodgers isn’t to far behind and P. Manning, Rivers and Breez are already gone. My question is will Zach ever get here? I mean Burrow’s Bengals only won 4 games last year but he wasn’t the reason why. Before he got injured he was doing the damn thang!!!

Mahomes came in lighting it up and won but had the weapons to do so. So did Herbert but he didn’t win, he just lit it up. J. Allen and Prescott had slowly starts and struggled a bit but you saw flashes in them and they have progressed to being franchise QBs now. Same with Murray and L. Jackson. So what do we have in Zach?

Does he have the goods to do this? I mean this is only Burrow’s second year and he’s in the Super Bowl. J. Allen is a premiere player that has taken his team deep in the playoffs three straight years. Mahomes has already been to two Super Bowls and won one of them. Besides Herbert these other QBs have taken there teams to the playoffs at the least!

So my question is where are we with Zach Wilson. Trevor Lawrence showed flashes this year under horrible condition. Yes the Jets have to build around Zach correctly, that’s no secret but my question is does he have the goods to do what these other eight QBs have? I think so but what do you think?

the good: our QB & HC are only in their first year.
The Bad: Did not do much this year, Lost to the D man
The Ugly: The Jets are the Jets

But it is way too early to tell. Now how does the QB class of 2023 look

team is in a full rebuild depending on how they attack free agency and who they sign will determine if the draft will be position priority of need or luxury additions... Zach started the year being reckless, and got hurt but realized for him to compete at this level he needs to do what is asked of him which is be that pocket quarterback and take the easy stuff... He has the big arm and when the shots are there he will be given the green light but right now he needs to work within the game plan and allow the other young players to grow with him and build that chemistry...

as for defense there are some key veterans and bunch of young guys trying to find how to play together... this year was installing a system to allow all the players figure out how to work with each other and be able to communicate they started to show signs at the end of the season but too many injuries slowed the process...

free agency is first there will be players that were under contract won't be re-signed and there will be players fans will be like what the fuck... at the end of the day we will be playing chess and checkers to match this defense with enough talent to continue to build moving forward...

on offense it is all how can we make the weapons more flexible? how can we maximize the results, bringing back Tevin Coleman or signing a free agent like Jeff Wilson, if they feel neither are options then drafting a compliment to run with MC... Ty could go either way looked good this season but fell out of favor near the end of the season... Austin Walter could be that guy but they need a third...

receivers Mims will get his chance but so will Corey Davis as both need to prove they have what it takes to be a part of the solution... Jeff Smith barely used and could lose his spot to Montgomery... will they draft someone early in the draft? these are all questions to be answered... will they bring back Berrios? or has he out priced himself? of the two Cole and Crowder don't expect either back but Cole has the better chance...

tight ends, they released Griffin at the end of preseason to void his contract which would of had him under contract next season but after the league year started signed him to a one year deal vet min. meaning they need to overhaul this position and they know it... Even Wesco could be gone...

In the trenches means both sides need talent, if and who they sign or draft will be key to development of both units...

I will disagree about Dak. I think he has shown vs good defenses he struggles. His stats get padded vs trash teams, but I really like him. I just don't think he is going to win a SB. I really don't think Murray will lead a team to the SB. As far as Wilson goes, its too early to tell, but playing for the Jets reduces his chances by about 100%. I didn't see anything other than rookie struggles with glimpses, but I'm hopeful. Watching Burrow and Herbert shows what rookies can look like with no excuses.

It’s where these players played that makes the difference

Not arguing anything your saying here GMF but Herbert and Burrow lit it up year one. Same as Cam Newton did his rookie year. I wanted to see the same from Zach but it didn’t happen. What I see is improvement over that last seven games. Nothing really impressive but steadiness and improvement. Even with all the injuries of the key players and the non players we had playing Zach played a little better towards the end of the season. Gotta like that!!!

game plan is important but the designer of the game plan has another successful season we could lose him to a head coaching opportunity and then this system will change if we don't have a back plan... just like filling needs and building the roster they have to be prepared to alter the game plan without losing the chemistry of the roster along with the change...

he bought in when he came back from injury because 3 other quarterbacks showed up in the game plan that was installed...

remember I stated he was a reckless quarterback that took too many chances loved to the move the pocket to extend plays but in college the talent is far off compared to the talent at this level and he took too many chances playing reckless to which he got hurt, not just physically but his pride was hurt and it showed in how he acted until a few people got to him and told him buy in to what they are preaching because look Mike, Joe and Josh succeeded to where you failed, and you have something they don't - the big arm talent to add on after you master this game plan...

so he came back, he had some rough patches but finally settled down and became the team mate he failed to be at the beginning of the season... with his play pointing up the team started to rally around him, of course still some bumps but they all started to compete at a different level...

make those changes, add that talent either buy short term contracts or get those key guys coming off their rookie deals that want to come here and buy in... the draft fill those areas that need a boost of talent, Offensive Line, Wide Receiver & Tight End on offense... Gain additional picks then maybe add another running back on day 3...

I just hope Murray & Zach are not just flash . but when I look at my two divisions I see top coaches in the NFC west & at least one top QB in the AFC east. Plus a good coach in Buffalo. Anything can happen but it is stacked against us for a few years. Right now i don't see Zach as the man but it is so early. Murray well next year is going to be his year or cut the bait

For sure. Bengals showed 6 year rebuilds are bullshit if you have your QB. And that city and teammates love Burrow. You can see it.
I think we have our QB. I didn’t want him because of where he played college ball and how long I thought it would take him to get acclimated to the NFL . What he did towards the end of the season missing key cogs at every position showed me that the learning curve won’t take as long as I thought. We will be better next season, maybe not playoff better but in that 3rd year I think we will see the same type of team we’ve been watching during these playoffs.
None of these teams really scare me .

Arm talent wise? Zach Wilson is as special as anyone; it's right up there with both Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen and just like Mahomes and Allen, Zach Wilson can also scramble and make plays outside of the pocket.

This kid oozes A+ and elite potential but it's going to become our Front Office's job to surround him with one of three things 1.) A much improved O-Line. 2.) Playmakers @ WR and 3.) An impactful and game changing TE.

(and the good news is throughout both Free Agency and the Draft our Front Office is in position to accomplish all 1-3 before heading into 2022).

Do for Zach Wilson what both Kansas City and Buffalo have done for Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen and we'll be able to (as a fan base) witness this kids God given talent(s).

I don't think there's any question about it.

And at the end of the day it'll be up to Zach Wilson himself to improve his IQ of the position while learning how to both check down and take what opposing Defenses give him; in order to take his own personal individual game to another level.

I absolutely love this kid and can not wait to see what the future holds for him because I have a strong feeling Joe Douglas is going to knock this Offseason out of the park throughout both FA and the draft with one goal in mind; Zach Wilson.

I'm headed to Utah in March. I'm assuming you will be there visiting Zach??

You’re like a kid on a sugar high. Take a breath man . For all their weapons, both Mahommes and Allen are sitting at home . Wanna know why .
It’s about the team, the total team, not the QB.
