Zach has a huge advantage this year. Fields, Lawrence, Mills (if he is anointed the starter) all have to learn a new system and language due to new CS for the Bears, Texan and Jags. Fortunately for us, we retain Saleh and Lafluer, so Zach can continue to evolve in the same system. This is a huge deal in that Darnold had to learn the Bowles way in yr 1, Gase way in yr 2 and the Rhule way in year 4, and look where that got him…. My expectations are high in that Zach can further perfect his craft in yr 2 without the burden of starting over again. Huge advantage for us in regard to the other QB’s mentioned …….

Darnold was never a good prospect. When a player has to impress you on his pro day or at the underwear Olympics, that should tell you all you need to know.
Coach prime ran the 40 and went home . Was no need to do anything else. If a player is confident enough to show up for the interviews and let his play dictate his draft status that’s an elite player . Who in this draft can do that ?

Brian Costello of the Post wrote a somewhat scary, if not cautionary column on the state of the Jets and the AFCE. He mentioned with Brady finally gone, Josh Allen has picked up where Brady left off into super-stardom and the Bills could rule the conference for the next 15 years!
Brian, give us a chance on the field at least!

Allen likes to take on defenders and it will be the undoing of him. If Zach can learn one thing from his idol Aaron Rodgers it should be how to run smart, as Rodgers did AFTER his injury.

I don't know about all of that now.

I mean Josh Allen is 3-0 during home playoff games but 0-3 during away playoff games and already heading into his 5th season with 0 SB rings.

I highly doubt that Josh Allen will rule the AFC East division let alone the Conference for 15-20 years.

Are they major contenders? Yes. But so are the likes of Patrick Mahomes/Chiefs and Joe Burrow/Bengals etc + whichever AFC East teams want to improve and contend with Josh Allen/Buffalo moving forward.

I think Buffalo takes a step back next year due to having a small available salary cap space + not so good draft capital.

But regardless I'll never fear Josh Allen as I once feared Tom Brady and/or Jim Kelly/Dan Marino (and he's got a long ways to go before mushing our faces in 6 SB rings).

I will say this. I wanted NE to beat Buffalo because I knew 100% that Bill Belichick and Mac Jones had 0% chance to compete with Andy Reid/Patrick Mahomes because man oh man did Josh Allen give KC a run for their money. Buffalo could be strong for a very long time but I don't fear them long term as I once feared Tom Brady in N.E.

Josh Allen will have to be dealt but I don’t foresee the Bills or anyone else ever doing what the spat’s did ever again.

This is huge for Zach and it looks like the offense could fit him. Darnold never had a chance here with the mess we had.
