At this point in Jets season and how our rookie OC handling of Zach learning building plays around Zachs strengths has been a Total Disaster! I know this is a half wit, built team. But the point was to build this young mans confidence and instead you have done the opposite! I dont like our OC throwing a Rookie QB under the bus because he doesnt like being criticized but thats why by zero helping our Rookie QB and causing him to go backwards. So Jets HC or GM needs to step in and make it clear to dumb ass OC that his job is to help Zach out with play calls to his strengths. At this point Im not sure how much damage has been done to Zach confidence in his play, but he is dropped completely off College level play! I dont think Ive ever seen a QB regress as far as Zach has in his play and confidence to where he looks like he has never played football in College. Zach not able to complete screen passes throwing in the dirt, staring at WR he is going to pass to, not able to think quick because of doubt. Then top it off O Line allows guys to rip Zachs helmet off!!! WTF is that? Never played on O Line before? Cant allow rookie to get head ripped off when his confidence is collapsing around him due to a rookie Coach on Offense. This is aDISASTER on OC. Stuff happening Im not sure Zach can correct in bad habits due to stupidity of OC. Ive never seen this my entire life of screwing up a Rookie QB that had so much upside in talent and arm.
Zach threw plenty of balls in the dirt and I'll advised passes in college. He faced mostly inferior teams and got away with alot. Not going to get away with throwing into double and triple coverage in the NFL. Cant be one dimensional on offense, QB had to take what the D is giving, be it short passes, quick outs to the RB in the flats, passes to the middle of the field ,or a open receiver deep. It's too easy to shut down an offense that can only do one thing.
The team even hired Zack's personal QB coach. The OC cant make the in play decision for him or throw the pass for him.
Zach has to improve his accuracy and decision making if he is going to be successful at this level.
Hes not ready yet and it shows. That doesn't mean that he's a bust, he has plenty of potential to improve.
