How many great QB’s had great rookie seasons? Josh Allen went from struggling rookie to star after they got him one of the best WR’s in football, and he got the necessary time to grow as a young QB from a small college program.

But Zach Wilson shows similar growing pains and some fans have completely jumped off the bandwagon. It never ceases to amaze me.

Look we can all predict but we just don't know. Time will tell.

Lmao, yep Zach held ball longer than 3 seconds by awful O Line and WRs covered or not catching pass bouncing off hands for INTs. Thats what mobile QBs do is make extra time to make plays happen. Its when a pocket passer only holds the ball past 3 seconds do you have awful problems.

something to keep in mind....it was documented by the HC that they made a conscious choice last season to throw the whole playbook at Zach.........so to expect wonderful results coming from BYU.......cmon. Let's get beyond the nitpicking and see how big his leap is in year 2.........even the national opinions have no idea who he is.........if you want to look at first half season film, it's not pretty. You want to look at late season film- I see a guy there that has already caught up to what Sam Darnold is and passed him. Darnold still makes same dumb mistakes. This kid processed and evolved - it's been his pattern at every level.

Big area I want to see improved is recognizing/adjusting to disguised coverages........that's where the time is lost if not done quickly. We want to see him work the progressions and not regress to playground ball after first read is covered - if you noticed, Pat Mahomes did a crap load of that last season until he finally got it under control.

in conclusion......just let the kid play and enjoy.

This is not coming from me, just relaying it as I don't feel qualified to make such a distinct judgment.
Today I read that Zach has little success when he holds the ball more than 3 seconds. The games he registered 2-something were much better.
My only comment is that we gave him better protection for this season. May success follow!
