Bullshit!!!! You go ahead and route for this garbage ass team to win 5-6 games with McCown and for us to not find out anything about Hack or Petty. So we'll know nothing there, which is the most important thing. Then to add the icing on the fuck you cake, they draft a damn 300 pound dlinemen or stay defense like usual and draft a CB. Even worse, they go 3-13 and draft a QB at #3 but that QB turns out to be a bust and the two QBs drafted at one and two turn out to be franchise QBs. Yeah real smart, go ahead and route away!!!

Listen, throwing a tantrum like a five-year-old and cussing like a truck driver doesn't amount to a rational assessment of a situation. The fact is, that as a franchise, I think the Jets will be far better off if they play well this year and start to develop a culture of good defense and smart play, of competitiveness, than if they suck and get the top pick in the draft. There are so many things that can go wrong with a draft pick, who after all, is only one person - injury? Becoming a bust? If you can make real strides as a team, that will serve you far, far better. If you can become a good team, you'll figure out a solution to the QB question. It could be free agency, it could be a QB picked later in the draft than #1 overall who develops. And frankly, I don't think we have seen nearly enough to know how much Petty or Hack might be able to develop. One or both of them could surprise us. As an Oklahoma Sooner fan, I saw Petty play some unbelievable games in college. Most QBs that did not play in a pro-style offense in college need far more time and experience to develop. McCown seems to be bringing a tremendous attitude to this team, and I think that can pay real dividends over the course of time, and in the meanwhile, Petty and Hack can both be learning a heck of a lot from him.

I agree with Nick here. It just doesnt seem like we won the game.

Its the absolute oddest feeling. I'am with the majority here, had Petty won us the match, then i'd be looking forward to the Jaguars game. Though i'am really not. We gave 12 quarters to a QB that is a journey man. Yet the orgainization has no guts to atleast activate Hackenberg?

Honestly, had the Jets drafted Dak, Watson, Goff, Wentz...they'd be all withering away on the bench. There are 13 match ups left in the season, when will the organization finally have the courage to begin evaluating Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg.

Lol, a 5-year old, that's pretty funny!!! Anyway, can't argue with anything that your saying but the Jets have tried it that way. They tried the overpaid free agent route with multiple players, the over the hill QB retread route (Testerverde, Farve, and a few more including McCown). What they haven't tried is the rebuild (not tank) but rebuild from the ground up mode. This team is obviously in that mode, so why are they playing a 38-year old, 7-team rethread QB??? How is this supposed to help this team in rebuilding correctly and becoming a SB contender or just a every week competitive team period? If you can answer that, I'm all ears. Now if this was being done with Hack or Petty I'd be all for it and proud as hell but it's with McCown. Get my point???

The Jets haven't had a franchise QB since Namath. The closest they came was with Pennington and they were very competitive but couldn't make it happen. Mainly because of Pennington's injury issues. Sanchez IMHO wasn't that guy. Maybe under better coaching he could have, maybe not. Farve and Testeverde were excellent for us but I'm talking a franchise drafted QB that helps us win a SB. With that said, being that we haven't had one and they tried it everyway and it hasn't worked, why not try it by total rebuild mode? In the end of all of this, this is just one win and the Jets will win 1-2 more games, (3 max) at most. Being that this will most likely be the case, it's really not helping but probably will hurt when it comes to that #1 draft pick for that franchise QB.

A lot of good QBs in this draft..... As long as we are in the top 5 we will get a franchise caliber guy.

Rosen
Darnold
Rudolph
Jackson
Mayfield
Allen
Fitzgerald
Falk
Stidham

Remember these names... at least 4 most likely 5 will be first rounders and to me there are 4 names in there easy that have franchise potential

A lot of big names but I believe Rosen and Darnold are head and shoulders above the rest of them.

Anyways, there's no guarantee the Jets will make the right choice so I'm okay with winning. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be

Excellent post. I'm not convinced any of these QBs are sure things. To be candid, I was pretty high on Watson last year, but it was hard to argue with taking Jamal Adams in that spot. I like players with championship mentalities and Watson has that.

I get wanting the number #1 pick, but it's awfully hard to root for losses. I would like to see this team develop. I would like to see this coach develop. I think the franchise in the long run will be well served if those things happen this season. The Jets will be able to draft a QB next year, there's no doubt about that if that is what they want to do, which seems likely. Whether it is at #1, #5, or #15, there will be a player available, and they have some ammunition to move up if they need to do so. I enjoyed the game yesterday, I thought the entire team played really well, and the coaches called a terrific game on both sides of the ball.

One of the guys that I have seen nothing written about on this board, or talked about in the media is our OC John Morton. Playing with the deck stacked against him, he has gotten some decent production out of the offense. He has successfully opened things up a bit in an effort to get the running game going. The running game is still struggling, but the on the whole the offense is playing better than anyone expected.

Just watched the game again, and came away really impressed with the job Lawrence Thomas did on Sunday. He pancaked several defenders, and looked very natural catching the ball on the 3rd and 1. We haven't had a FB or a TE forever, but now it seems as we have filled both spots with LT and ASJ.
