That will be most evident when McCown plays the entire season.
i posted it here last season & i still feel the same way.. forget just HCs.. this dope is one of my all time least favorite jets ever..

he's shown himself to be a self serving prick, since he got here..

the balls on this guy!!

He's making a lot of money, 13. He's got to keep that cash register being his personal piggy bank.......

Really the ONLY bright spot I see out of yesterday is that maybe, just maybe, Woody and Chris are being further convinced that having Bowles as HC will NOT ever change the culture of this team. Maybe this provides more evidence as the season is now over, that Bowles is simply NOT the guy, nor will he ever be. He is not a Parcells disciple, not even close. Parcells would've had the Jets flying high after 10 days to prepare. Bowles is now 1-4 immediately after extended breaks.

Parcells would've had this team ready in 10 hours. With each new HC we fans hope to see a culture change that will just blow us away, and then it never happens. I agree after 3 seasons that TB is trending once again to be another Jet HC who can't find an identity or change the losing culture here. So sad indeed.

At times it appears his teams personality seems to mirror Todd Bowles personality...sort of Lackadaisical for lack of a better word.

Now, Rex did change the culture when he first arrived, but his total lack of discipline was his downfall. Like a substitute teacher in the class room...it was like a free for all.

Ha. Good one.
Another bright spot, the words playoffs and the New York Jets have officially ended. It is now time to see what this has for 2018.
Start playing some of these young corners, they can't be much worse than Buster "flag me" Skrine.
I'd also start playing Dozier instead of Winters. The game Winters missed and Dozier stepped in he seemed to play well. Winters is making too much for what heputting out on the field.
I'd tell Forte he's going to rest his knee up for the foreseeable future, if not outright IR him.
McCown, thank you, you have played well for this team. Just not well enough. You have maxed out what you are capable of, we know this because this is what you are, a 38 year old journeyman QB that is a great teammate. Please help get the younger QB's up to speed because that is who we are going with from here on out.

They'll play McCown until he gets hurt and can't play and there's talk in the rumor mill already of bringing him back next season.

Three things

1) McClown May be a good teacher for our new draft pick QB next year.

2) I don't want him to start next year

3) He does throw a good long ball

Thats it

one thing;

i don't want him to start next year either.. i don't want him on the roster next season, especially if bowles is back.. but if maccagnan is dumb enough to re-sign mccown, bowles will be self serving enough to start him, regardless of what QB we draft in'18.. my thinking anyway..

Here is the carzy thing, the Bills just benched their starter. At 5-4 they are going with a rookie QB.they are still conceivably in the playoff hunt.
The Jets are basically out of the playoff picture.they have a 3 year QB backing up McCown and a 2 year QB behind him. Again McCown hasn't been awful, except that last pass vs Miami and continueing to take sacks instead of throwing the ball away at an alarming rate.
Now if Petty and Hackenberg are soo bad that they won't even be considered to start a game going forward then what the #$@% are they doing on the team to begin with??

The overall sentiment I can agree with... If the Bills who are in the playoffs at the moment can turn to a rookie in a playoff race why can't the Jets turn to Petty or Hack. So I agree with that.

But first off the Jets aren't out of the playoff picture not even close to being out of the playoff picture. And 2 as much as I would like to see Petty play at some point we have to assume Bowles and Morton have 0 confidence in them cause they are terrible. IMO I think it's more Bowles stubbornness than Petty sucks but until Petty gets a chance somewhere and proves me right I have to assume the original point than the latter.

That's a good question McJet.
1.) Are they ready to start?.... and
2.) if they ARE ready, WHY not start one of these kids?

If either one were better than McCown they would be already be starting....and that right there is not a good sign. The fact these 2 kids haven't even reached the same level of a Josh McCown goes a long way to answering your question, and McCown is not even a high bar to surpass.

Chances are Petty and Hack are most likely no better than all the other "back ups" who have come thru here...Simms, Geno and so on. The coaching staff has clearly had enough time to evaluate these 2 kids and they already know their fate.

Why they are on the team? To play back-up for now....That is all...

I agree 100% and I pretty much just posted the same thing on the, “We Stink” thread.

Here's the fate we're most likely looking at for the rest of this year and this off season. TB won't sit Mccown until he is either told to do so or he can no longer justify playing him. So most likely expect Mccown to play another 3 games at least. That won't be enough time to get a great look at Petty and Hack and evaluate them. So why even bother!!!

As far as the off season is concerned, because these fools will most likely handle it this way, they will be dumb enough to think Mccown can be the answer next year. Just like they did with Fitzpatrick. So they won't draft a QB period or they'll draft one in like the 4th round or later and that QB will be a 2-3 year learning process bust. Same ole Jets!!!
