You did see the article on Morton and Bowles where they said they waived the white flag with 11 minutes left when petty went in and went totally conservative on purpose. The coaching stinks. They will probably go conservative sunday as well because they are stupid and dont realize this is a perfect opportunity to study this kid or because they dont want this kid to do well and make them look bad for not playing him the entire year

If that is the case, then consider it mission accomplished.
I wonder, even going conservative, if the coaching staff told Petty to continually one hop or throw at the receivers shoes when they are no more than 10 yards away? or to throw behing the crossing receivers so that they can look like shit also or get injured. After 3 years Petty is still out of his depth. Maybe the Saints defense didn't make it into madden 2018.

I'm still inclined to believe that if Hack had anything to offer he would be starting and not Petty. I just doesn't make any sense at all, even for this front office, to not play Hack if he was better than Petty. They are both expendable in my book.

I don't believe that... I believe Petty before he got hurt in preseason made major strides in his development being on the back burner all season then thrust into the starting lineup with only a week of practice and we saw some ups and downs in his performance; now he has tape in this offense to rely on and make corrections along with McCown at his side giving him hints and pointers... Never know he may come out and rip have one of those games, have no expectations just want a clean game from him and the rest of the offense...

As for Hack, unlike Petty he didn't take the next step because they didn't do anything with him last year... Now this year (last off season) they took baby steps bringing him along, but at the same time this was a whole new game plan that he had to learn along with his mechanics... The real test is this upcoming off season, to see if he takes the same step Petty took last off season... I don't think he should play this season even if Petty gets hurt...

I will concede that Petty has made improvement and as I mentioned once before he played relatively mistake free this time. His form and passing accuracy were in my opinion lackluster. He even admitted in an interview after the game that he was struggling with his footwork during the game and that he was going to work on that this week. I haven't written him off completely yet. I think that he could be a viable back up and in time maybe become much better. I can't quite bring myself to visualize him as a franchise QB, at least not in the near future. We will see how much better, if at all, he plays this next game. I wish him well because as I have stated previously I really like his personality and work ethic.
