We’ve got like 5 safeties on the roster, including a few we just signed today. Where will he play with Maye and Adams?
Overall I think Mac has done a solid job, however he is not done. He should/will continue to add YOUNG talent. Johnson is a great signing at CB. I love the Crowell signing. He will do well in this offense. I would rather have had Richburg or Ryan Jensen to play C but I'm hoping Mac is not done here. Not sure what the plan is at WR/TE. It would be foolish to rely on Q to fill the void. So what's next?
If I'm in charge, I would cut Skrine and sign the Honey Badger. He would add A LOT to this defense including putting pressure on opposing QBs. I would like to see DaQuan Jones signed as well. Someone needs to add additional pressure. These two guys means the D is set and the draft will be dedicated to the Offense.
I have a feeling that Mac likes one of the second tier QB's and will not overreach in round 1. That means one of his QB guys falls to #6 or his picks from Chubb, Nelson or Barkley and waits for his guy later on day 1 or day 2. It wouldn't surprise me to see it play out as follows:
Round 1: Nelson, G
Round 2: Courtland Sutton, WR
Round 2: Mike White, QB
Round 3: Kerryon Johnson, RB
Round 4: Jordan Akins, TE
The Honey Badger would create quite a buzz for this team and would add to the terrific young defense.

All over the field including CB, LB and Nickel, just like he did when Bowles coached him.
Mathieu can play nickel, inside linebacker and safety... Last year we played a lot of 3 man safety... Yes we re-signed Terrence Brooks to a 2 year deal and gave a RFA tender to Rontez Miles while also signing Doug Middleton to an Exclusive Rights Tender... Todd Bowles, Dennard Wilson love having versatile defensive backs to roll many coverage sets...
Maye and Adams prominently played up at the line of scrimmage, when they played 3 safeties Brooks was center field... Miles more of a special team ace, can be depth at safety... We know Middleton showcases coverage safety abilities but coming off an injury don't know where he stands on the roster...

Interesting. It’s mind boggling that a 25 year old kid with this talent is being released by AZ. What are they thinking?
The Bowles connection might work here. Our secondary would be downright scary with him and Trumaine Johnson on board now. We should have plenty of money left.

Maye & Adams working up and down the line...
Mathieu in the box, in the nickel or center field, dangerous...
Add in Brooks the substitutions would be sweet...
Not to mention Miles, he also has some get playing that sam linebacker role, in the box...
Todd Bowles former safety would finally have a secondary that integrates with the linebackers that could make us a top 3 pass defense...
only thing then would be to sew up the other outside linebacker spot and defensive line depth to improve on what was lacking last year run defense...
On a side note,
The Patriots lost LT Nate Solder, RB Dion Lewis, WR Danny Amendola, and CB Malcolm Butler.
I feel TERRIBLE for them.

That defense would be just incredible. Add in a young pass rusher, and we are talking a defense for the ages.

I would love to get him. He can actually cover and has a nose for the ball which Maye and Adams haven't shown much yet in that respect. You can never have too many good football players.
Can he play corner? I feel good about our safety situation.
I am tossing this out as a shot-in-the-dark possibility. Both the Jets and Giants want to upgrade their secondaries. What if...
Step 1: Jets sign Honey Badger
Step 2: Jets package Marcus Maye, the #6 overall pick, and one of their second rounders to the Giants to move up to #2 and take the QB of their choice?
This way, the Jets have Adams and Mathieu at safety. Maye upgrades the Giants' secondary. The Jets can draft their QB. And in all likelihood, the Giants will land Nelson at #6 after Barkley and the run on QBs.
I know there are way too many moving parts to this, but to me, it makes an awful lot of sense.
