The more i dissect this trade, the more the Jets were fully vested in plan "B" :

The Josh McCown signing speaks volumes on how highly they wanted him at Florham to groom the 3rd overal pick. Keep in mind, Josh, when at Cleveland, witnessed first hand the dichotomy of a young QB who had all the promise in the world in Johnny Manziel. Josh was there. Josh was in the meetings, the practices and when things turned for the worst.

Enter Baker Mayfield. Not stating that he is a mirror image of Johnny, but he is young as was #2 at Cleveland. What better person would you want in the building to guide the young gun in the right direction than a person who saw an enormous talent go right out the window than Josh McCown.

I feel the pick is obvious: Its Baker Mayfield. Even though he has his head fixed right this time, if at any point he starts to allow the NYC lights get the best of him, Josh will be right there to show him a photo of the former Texas A&M super star in which no NFL team wants to touch ever again.

Dear Kirk Cousins:

Thank you Kirk Cousins is all I can say. Thank you for not signing with the Jets. If you would have, then the Jets wouldn’t have made this trade for a true franchise QB. A rookie one that is 6-8 years younger then you. Yes there is a possibility the QB might turn out to be a bust but so was the signing in you. I mean the team that you left wanted you but not bad enough to keep you, even with the stats you put up. So that tells me all I need to know. So thank you Kirk for doing us this favor. This is what I wanted the Jets to do in the first place and I can finally start watching Jets football again.

Note: Plus there is a strong possibility we have a great fall back plan in Teddy Bridgewater. Whom also is younger then you. If he comes truly healthy, hungry and focused.

Seriously,
Jets fans, especially me!!!

I don’t buy any notion that NFL teams “tank”. NBA? Yeah, I can see that. But not the NFL.

You’re telling me that guys are gonna run out there and purposely give 75% so that the team will get a higher draft position the following year? You’re telling me GM’s are instructing coaches to instruct players to risk their health going half ass against other players going 100%, full throttle?

Nope. Not buying it.

No. I'm saying they put together a team that was not supposed to be good enough to win. There was very little talent on the team last year and a lot of the talent was a surprise

I'm really must be manic depressive

I was down after we sucked again with 5 wins

I was up , thought we were getting Cousins

I was down when he went to vikes

I was up when we signed Teddy

I was down when we signed McCown

I was up when we traded to #3

Im down now because I fear we pick the wrong one

And that's all in just the last week or so

Anyone have a good therapist

Josh Allen- Too many variables especially the rawness of his body of work. Completion percentage may scare Mac away as he saw what a mistake Hackenberg was in that department.

Josh Rosen- May be the most polished out of the entire class, though his concussion history can derail any interest Mac may have in him. Also, reports say his heart may not be into football 100% (dont know how true that is)

Sam Darnold- To me is the most talented but he needs time to grow. I dont think Macagnan has the time to develop a talent as Mike & Todd may be on their last leg for ther tenure as top men for the Jets if they don't get this right.

Baker Mayfield- Out of all of these QB's, this is the one that can turn a franchise around with his moxy, leadership, laser focus and passion for the game as he has demonstrated for Texas Tech and OU. Fans once again will have intrigue in watching the Jets due to this kids energy. Ticket sales will go through the roof once he gets his shot. This is a HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD for Mac and company, but if they were ballsey enough to trade up, then selecting this kid is the cherry on top to make a statement. He'll be the Jamal Adams of our offense for years to come.

Jets wont get Darnold. So the best sure pick is Mayfield but highest reward is Josh Allen! Allen has everything to be the best QB in this Draft with body type, size & arm strength. Read it on him on NFL. No doubt Allen is boom or bust but the rewards are great with this kid. But I think Jets will take a less riskier pick Mayfield. I'm happy with either one but do like Allen a little more. Jets needs to stay away from Rosen who cant throw long passes accurately as said in NFL reports. Rosen is another UCLA Sanchez without the long pass & I dont want him. Jets need a QB that can pass in cold windy weather!! This means NO Rosen who has trouble on nice days passing. Allen has played in cold weather & Mayfield with his accuracy should have much trouble. So no warm weather inaccurate Cali QB with tons of YAK yards by his WR's. Remember Geno Smith and his fantastic Yards in college? Yeah, over half was YAC yards & he was accurate passer for 15 yards, but mostly threw screens. Rosen has average QB at best while Mayfield has proven his skills. Still Allen would be exciting only if Jets has or gets a GOOD QB coach to teach him, Whens the last time a Jets coach was a good QB coach? Either way Mayfield/Allen are not playing till next year. Geez I would be sick if Mikey screws this one bad like Hackenburg...just stay away from hype about QB's like Rosen and even Allen! But at least Allen has a big potential where Rosen dont. Just think of weather, wind and cold and accuracy. If a QB isnt accurate in warm weather & little wind, how is Rosen going to be better here? Matfield is right pick of lesser risk.

#1 Josh Rosen- Best QB out there.

#2 Josh Allen- Overlooked: His WR dropped a lot of passes this past year.

#3 Sam Darnold- Sounds too good to be true.

#4 Baker Mayfield- Needs a step ;ladder to see over the line.

Here's what you need to do. Give up watching football and switch to women's basketball and root for UConn. You might even get bored with all the winning
