YES, I would definitely sign Manziel

Well I'm glad you aren't the GM of the Jets. There are plenty of good to great players with high character. Why settle for the trash of the league??
I'm not saying you want 53 guys like Suh or Namath, but every team has a few, you can't build a team of 53 choirboys, you're gonna have some guys who like to party, some guys who are violent etc. Its inevitable. You just have to hope those guys still show up and help you win football games. If not, you get rid of them.

I knew how Tebow would feel about this. Manziel is basically SuperMayfield. He's all things about Mayfield, just exaggerated - shorter, more off-field issues, more questions about his translation to the pro game.

For example I would cut Robby Anderson. He is easily replaced, but if you draft a QB like Manziel and possibly Baker then your franchise is screwed for years. I'm not going to kill you for your opinion on Baker, but Manziel is trash and so is Suh.

I'm not sure Anderson is that easily replaceable. How long has this franchise been seeking its deep threat? Hill and Smith both with second round picks, other acquisitions...

Its not like he set the league on fire.

He did have one of the top 10 deep threat ratings in the league last year. That is pretty close.

Sorry, make that top 5 (4th).

Robby Anderson

WR
Jets
Passer rating: 97.1 (15th).
Catch rate: 44 percent (sixth).
Percentage of yards: 40.6 percent (ninth).
Deep touchdowns: 7 (first).

Score: 31.

One of 2017's top breakout receivers, Anderson emerged as a true difference-maker on a Jets offense that was expected to be among the league's worst headed into the regular season. The former undrafted free agent's vertical ability -- of which we saw signs during his rookie season in 2016 -- became fully formed in his second NFL campaign. All seven of Anderson's touchdowns in 2017 came on deep passes, and he led all wide receivers in the category. Still just 24 years old, Anderson clearly has the ability to be one of the best vertical wideouts in the game for years to come, though he's also set a troubling pattern of behavior off the field. Anderson's January arrest in Florida was his second arrest in less than a year's time. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News wrote that the Jets aren't ready to give up on Anderson, but that he's in danger or running out of chances and could face a league-mandated suspension in 2018.

Let Johnny play a year or two in Canada, without incident, to show he's cleaned up his act. Remember, he acted like a schmuck AFTER he was drafted into the NFL, so you can't chalk up his behavior to youthful exuberance.

Well good thing have Pryor who is just as fast and much bigger. The big thing with RA is he is a bad human. Its not a one time issue. It is multiple times. Can't fix guys like that. But this isn't about RA, its about how stupid it would be to sign Manziel.

So far this off season you have wanted Suh, Manziel and Baker. Maybe we could pickup Josh Brown at kicker and trade for Burfect as well. OJ is available too.

Burfict would set the tone on D. If anyone tries to do something really risky like run the ball, he’ll tear their helmet off and beat them with it. That’s really what pushes a defense to that next level. Baltimore Ravens 2000 type defense.

I’d bring OJ Simpson in for a look-see. He could definitely be part of a two-pronged attack with Crowell. Even 2/3 of the old OJ is still pretty damn good.

Good idea. Let him prove that he has truthfully matured and sobered up on someone else's dime for a couple of seasons before we even think about his skill set. RA is problem child enough for this team to have to deal with. We don't want our new QB, Mayfield, to come straight from the draft into a situation where he learns to drink more than he learns to play.
