Yeah but you wanted Lamar Jackson before Baker so should we really trust your rankings??
When did I ever say that?

If I did, it must have been a long time ago, because I can't even remember it, but that was a silly thing to say if I said it.

That said, I do believe Lamar is vastly underrated, always believed that and still believe it now, thats why I never submitted a mock that had him lower than 12

If the Jets were picking closer to 10 than 3 and missed on the BIG 4, I would have zero problem with the Jets taking Lamar.

In fact I would be bitterly disappointed if they didn't.

I get what you are saying but are they doing their due diligence or have they come to some kind of consensus of who they have No.1, No. 2 and No. 3? If so then I am content they have come to some finalization in who they would target and welcome...

But forsakes the information floating out there makes the team happy with the top three on their board but is it a consensus or just content?

Looking at the roster and using the past season as a reference:

Teddy Bridgewater maybe healed to walk but is he capable football shape?
Josh McCown named starter because he was last year, but he ended up on IR...
Do we keep the 3rd year guy or 4th year guy and I will bring this back up later...

So drafting which QB? Do we want the guy that needs 1 year to sit? 2 years to sit? the pro ready accurate, guy that comes with some questions if he loves football enough to be the guy? or do you take the obnoxious, arrogant, short guy that is technically ready to take day one snaps if he can see over the line?

So with the knowledge that our starter last year ended the year on IR and has a history of taking risks that he gets banged up often, are they banking on him to be the starter opening day?

Are they taking a chance on Bridgewater hoping he is healthy and will compete to not only win the starting job but possibly become the starter long term?

If Bridgewater proves he is NOT healthy (Football Shape) they will indeed cut him only losing $500K gtd but opens the door for us to keep either Hackenberg or Petty for at least this year...

So which one tho would we keep? I mean we would then have a 39 year old veteran with no guarantees he make it through the season, and one of tho two other this regime draft selections in Hack or Petty... The reason I say this is who is going ot be the backup because the rookie will likely be third string...

Now if they take one of the two pro ready QBs in this draft either Mayfield or Rosen then technically either one of those two could initially be named the backup with Hack or Petty 3rd string...

Some talk that Allen is literally Maccagnan's type of QB prospect, but now with Mayfield could be the No. 1 overall pick would they attempt to draft Darnold whom is on a lot of team's big boards as the No. 1 Overall because of his ceiling...

As long as the team is on top of things and not going into this draft with one eyed closed I am all for giving whomever it is a chance to prove the naysayers wrong...

As for me I don't covet any one of the Top 8 QBs in this draft but in order of Team breakdown who fits us best:

Darnold if we are confident in Bridgeater/McCown combo...

Rosen if we are not confident in Bridgewater, and expect that McCown will be the starter and Hack/Petty...

Mayfield if Darnold is not on board and we are confident in Bridgeater/McCown combo...

The only problem is we won't know where Bridgewater will be and there is guaranteed who is going No. 1 & No. 2...

G they must have some idea on Bridgewater.....if they feel it is 75% or better that he will be back in shape...Barkley.......I don't follow the school league but from what I hear Bridgewater may have the best odds of being a number 1 of the five

Well you did say it and it was a few months ago. I will give you credit you have been blowin' Mayfield for a lot longer.

Dude why do you have to be vulgar and insulting?

Seriously, is that really necessary because we disagree about a particular player or players?

I've been nothing but respectful towards you, despite our disagreements.

I don’t think the Giants are taking a QB. It’s got to be Saquon. They need him badly for Eli. And he’s the best player in the draft.

The consensus seems to be that none of these guys are sure things like Luck or Wentz were. But how often do “locks” at the QB position enter the draft? More often, there is a red flag with all of them. Rarely is a guy perfect.

Like it or not, Macc has no choice. He has to get a FQB. This QB carousel has gone on for too long. We’re not going to win without one. Trent Dilfer isn’t going to come along and defy all the odds for this team.

To me, it all comes down to how in love with Barkley the Giants are. If they aren't totally sold on using the #2 pick on him, I think the following scenario happens:

Browns - Mayfield
Giants - trade to Bills, who love Allen
Jets - Darnold
Browns - Barkley

In this scenario, 1 and 3 might be interchangable.

If the Giants DO love Barkley, they stay there and take him, and the Jets end up with either Darnold or Mayfield, whichever the Browns don't take. Browns then take Chubb at 4. My guess from then on is the Broncos sit tight, depending on how much they love Rosen, and either take him or go Nelson. Then the Colts deal the pick to the Bills, who take Allen.

I can't see that happening, because its too cost prohibitive. I'm sure the Giants will demand a Rickey Williams/Hershel Walker type trade, they'd be crazy not too, and the Bills GM would be equally crazy to pay the price it would (should) cost to move all the way up to #2. That would essentially cripple any chance they have of building a team around their new QB. I can see the Bills trading up, BEHIND US, if one of the BIG 4 slides, but I can't see them paying the price to move up to 1 or 2.

Come on man I was just busting' your chops. I guess I should have posted an emoji or something. I have always appreciated your posts even if I don't agree with you. Sorry if you were offended. And it was more of a joke since you have started multiple threads about your love for Baker Keenum.

I would never try to offend anyone on this forum. I hate emojis and never use them so I guess it did sound kinda Mayfieldy (my new word for Douchey).

If the Giants don’t take Barkley, I’ll be surprised. Eli can still get the Giants to a SB with an improved o-line and RB like Saquon. Barkley checks all the boxes: great runner, good receiver, good blocker, and high character player. He can alleviate the pressure on Eli to carry the offense. OBJ, Engram, and Barkley is exactly what the doctor ordered.

this would be awesome. and mary kay cabot is well respected, so hopefully this is true (always recognizing we are in smokescreen territory, although this seems less needed when you pick first)

Tomorrow can’t get here soon enough. This is going to be edge of your seat suspense here. I’m honestly only interested in the first 30-40 mins of this draft. I’ll take a peek online Friday to see who we take in the 3rd.

After that....meh.

so i went over to the browns board on the scout network (it was always a very active board) and they say that cabot is incorrect many times and that the article is really nothing incremental. could very well be an attempt to get some GM to come trade up. quite a few think they will go with darnold despite all the talk of allen and now mayfield

IOW, no one has any clue what dorsey is gonna do.
