Raiders fielding offers for Khalil Mack?

There are multiple reports out there, just Google Khalil Mack, suggesting Gruden is fed-up with Mack's holdout and the Raiders don't have the cap space to pay him what he wants, so Gruden is listening to offers and is prepared to trade Mack, perhaps for a 1st RD Pick if he suspects the team will be selecting fairly high. We might have to throw in a player too, but if we can get Mack, thats the elite edge rusher we've been searching for since forever.

Of course that means we'll be shutout of the 1st and 2nd RD's in next years draft, because we dealt our 2 for Sam Darnold, but if our first round pick can be the catalyst for a trade to acquire a 27 year old Khalil Mack, thats a trade I have to make, and unlike the Raiders, we do have the cap space to afford and extend Mack's contract.

What do you guys think, are you willing to sit out the first two rounds of next years draft if we can acquire Khalil Mack?

I would give a 1st for him in a heartbeat. That would instantly transform this defense.

Me too, plus, I would add, if we're locked out of RD's 1 and 2 of the draft, but no longer needing an edge rusher, I'm sure we'll be extremely aggressive in free agency to upgrade the O-line in general, LT in particular.

We would have been able to get the two most important positions in football. LT would be close and in major need.

However, I bet we could get Fowler for next to nothing. I really think it would cost two 1st round picks to get Mack.

A 27 year old pass rushing monster in his prime who we can lock up lock term....

He’d probably cost a lot. Something like 2 first round picks or thereabouts. I wouldn’t normally say yes for such high draft pick compensation, but for Mack. Hell yes.

Pass rushing void filled instantly.

If he was 25 this would be a no-brainer. But we might only have him at his best for another two or three years. And our pick might wind up being a high one this year.

I would give up our first round pick for Mack in a heartbeat if that would get it done.

It's incredibly tempting but I say no to our first plus other picks or a package of players. It would cost multiple picks, including our first rounder. Or our first and one of our starting players.
???????
We can draft a pass rusher in the first round of the draft next year,( probably the strength of the draft) and have him for 5 years on minimal salary. That would also leave Mack's potential money to sign Lawrence, Ansha, Fowler or possibly even Mack and we would arguably have a top Defense and a young stud pass rusher for years.
It makes more sense to play the long game. We have seen over the past decade plus that the win now through a big FA splash doesn't work.
The Raiders could easily afford to pay Mack, they have $45 million in cap space next season and over $114 million in 2020 ,but they are unwilling to commit long term.

I’d be surprised if something doesn’t happen soon with Mack. I understand standing your ground if your McKenzie/Gruden, but you don’t let a player of this caliber go. Raider Nation isn’t going to be happy about that.

Mack isn't likely going anywhere.
He's holding out to let Donald set the market. Then he will be at the table .

Having Mack would be great but the price would be too high for a 27 year old I am sure. I'd rather settle for Fowler. He's only 24, would also be really good , and I think we could very possibly get him even steven for Bridgewater.

Mack is OLD at 27? Come on guys, Mack is far from being old and I would trade my 1RD pick for a SURE thing Player in Mack every time! Maybe Bridgewater and a 2nd? Since they Jumped on Hackenburg. I would give Mack a 3 year deal ,option for 4th and pay him the yearly wage you were giving to the SCAMMING LAZY SCUMBAG WILKERSON! Mack is 10 X the Player Wilkerson is and for sure to bring the heat to other teams QB with Williams on other side or same side. BEASTS to have both.

Mack will fetch a first third and 4th or two first.
Agree he is not old. At 27.
IMO IS 10 times the player that Fowler is.
Mo type money is not in the ballpark for Mack. He will get over $22 million per year. Will be the highest paid non QB, likely surpassing several QBs. I'm willing to bet it's a 5 year deal with over $60 million guaranteed. Well worth the money but can the Jets afford the capital to trade?

Maybe David Carr gets injured. Then a swap Mack for Teddy B straight up would be awesome.

Still wouldn't get it done. If Carr gets injured, again, The Raiders will be looking to draft a QB.
Chucky has a 10 year deal. Teddy could fetch a 1 in an ideal scenario, but not two 1s.

David Carr is an NFL Network analyst.

You meant Derek Carr. And I don’t even think the Raiders are dumb enough to trade one of the best defensive players in the NFL for Bridgewater. The Jets would have to include their 2019 1st round pick in that deal.

all i can say is look at Andrew Luck and realize the Jets need to draft OL with the 2019 1st rounder. I know it kills the chance to draft a premium pass rusher, but we need Sam safe first and foremost.
