I read Herndon was banged up a little bit in the last practice. And Pryor isn’t quite 100% yet. Enunwa’s hand injury is minor. All three didn’t play and will be back soon.

Imagine what Darnold will do behind the first string o-line and those three players in the game?

I loved what I saw in Crowell. That TD catch and run was straight power. Too bad be got hurt. He and Sterling were looking good before they left. I think the Jets have a ton of weapons on offense to choose from.

I was looking for consistency and the offensive line for the most part did their job and all three quarterbacks were able to execute the game plan... yes I agree, Crowell's touchdown was straight nasty power... The offense has its starters almost completely in place... The only battle right now I see is at Tight End... We expect RA, Enunwa and Kearse to be the starting receivers, we saw what the offense looks with Powell as the #1 and Crowell as the #1b... Fullback/H Back battle between Lawrence Thomas and rookie Dimitri Flowers looks like another battle that could go all the way to the start of the season... Otherwise I was in complete awe of the difference in the ones and twos this first game, compared to all of last season...

Darnold looked sharp but he is far from polished, he needs to sit and be groomed... McCown and Bridgewater either one can claim the starting job entering the season and we will be okay...

Like I said this defense showed it's grit and intensity throughout the entire game but mainly that first half was lights out and if this is what we are going to see in the regular season, sign me up...

What part of his game looked unpolished? And why do you think sitting him would help groom him more than learning in game?

Yes, I realize that Matt Ryan barely played and Julio Jones didn't play at all. I also know that pre-season games don't count. Still, this is the most optimistic I have felt in a long time. The Jets dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. There was even a pass rush.

Our QB situation is now top tier, in my opinion. No, we don't have Brady, Rogers, or Brees, but our 3-man depth is terrific. We have a seasoned vet, a young very good QB, and a rookie stud. Very few, if any teams, have this combination.

Very glad for Teddy. It was easy to see what he can bring to the table. It was also easy to see why he was beloved by his teammates in Minnesota. He has a smile that lights up a stadium.

As for Darnold, I could not be happier. You could see this 21 year-old kid actually go through his progressions. His look off to the left on the TD pass was tremendous. He already seems to know what he is looking at when he comes to the line of scrimmage. The contrast between Darnold and Hack in this area was stark. Sam has that "It" gene.

We have $100 million in cap space. Next year we buy or draft a stud edge rusher and some good offensive linemen. The future is bright.

This is most I've been excited about the Jets in a very long time. Probably 1998. We had some good years with Rex but never really felt we had the guy behind center that could take the team on his back. Sam showed us last night he has the goods and playing in the NFL he doesn't look like a deer in a headlights.Would like to see him next with the first team. Really think he can start day 1.

BTW - maybe the first time in a while our 2nd and 3rd team didn't get dominated in the preseason. Was a great night all around and hopefully Sterling and Crowell are OK. Sterling looks like a find.

His accuracy on short passes and deep passes is NOT polished, his decision making is a breathe of fresh air from a young signal caller... His leadership is bounds ahead of most quarterbacks in the league and his footwork at this stage is better than some established starters in the league...

That first deep pass to Charles Johnson was severely poorly thrown, (un-catchable) this comes with more chemistry and continuity with any targets... These reps don't need to be live, they can come from working with receivers, running backs and tight ends in practice... He has to get stronger to be able to attempt all levels of the passing tree not just short to intermediate ones... For him to be a cerebal passer he needs to grow in this area... Teddy Bridgewater showed what Darnold can become, but isn't right now...

His poise and command was the best thing watching him out there but doesn't mean he should be anointed the starter for the regular season but the preseason just started and lets see if continues to impress then go from there....

I don’t want to piss on the parade here, but the run blocking looked bad to me. Especially the 2nd string. Cannon and Crowell looked like they could’ve broke a few if the defense wasn’t constantly in the backfield, blowing by the line.

Hopefully this won’t be our Achilles this season. We need to run the ball more than last year.

That play solidifies or should what type of QB we have. Not a easy play to execute and easy pass to complete. He throw between three defenders and completed it with ease. Here’s something that caught my eye. They played him the entire second half. I didn’t think they were going to do that. I wasn’t quite sure they would play him in the second half at all. I figured they let him finish on that high note on the half time TD.

The NFL Network half time commentators were talking about that. Seems to me they are giving this kid every opportunity to show he should be the starter. They didn’t want to just let him finish the half on a high note. No, go out there and show us you can finish the game playing with players who won’t even be on the team this year. I take that as even more a vote of confidence. They believe he could do it and just wanted to see him do it and continue on that high note.

What no one has commented on with that throw was that his shoulders were square which is required to be accurate. Also go back and check out how he used TWO hands on the ball to secure it.... I can tell you I am pretty dam happy that we - finally - have three viable QBs.

PS. Thanks for the response regarding a streaming site...I turned on the TV and low and behold ESPN had the game on so I was able to tune in...…

The TD throw and the last throw where he rolled left and threw a strike on the run were my favorite passes of the night. He looked like a STAR QB on those passes.
