Maybe the Broncos, who Elway says, might be in the market for a back-up QB would trade us a left tackle and a 2nd for him. We all know there wasn't decent play at that position today and what we normally put in there isn't great either. They have 7 or 8 OTs on their roster I believe.

Once they realize that last year was a fluke and that Keenum is a JAG, I think they would jump at Bridgewater.

I don’t think we’re getting a first or a second for Bridgewater. Players like Khalil Mack get first round returns, and even though Bridgewater is a QB, I still think a 3rd is the best we’ll get. Maybe I’m wrong.

Regardless, the Jets need to think beyond this moment. Bridgewater is playing better than Darnold right now, but the team needs to think about the future. Darnold is the guy we invested everything in. And Teddy is too good to ride the bench. I’d personally like a player-for-player swap for Teddy. A starting caliber offensive lineman or edge player would really help.

I'll say this, the only time i'm noticing Leonard Williams is when he's he is helping up his teammates after they make a tackle/play. I know its only preseason but i expect at least one splash play from the supposed best player in the 2015 draft.
3rd year, time to show up. Same with Darren Lee. It looks like the RB out of the backfield is going to kill the Jets again.

Regarding the game itself, I thought Darnold did some good things. Yes, he threw the INT that was batted up in the air and the defender made a nice play. But overall, you can see it with Sam. He has “IT”.

The offensive line concerns me. I really hope that Beachum and Winter’s return shores this thing up a little more. Both Sam and Teddy got sacked on plays that looked like jail breaks. We can’t survive the season under those circumstances. Two straight games where our o-line was tossed aside by superior players. Not good.

I remember watching Leonard Williams on NFL Live. He was with Mark Schlereth. He was showing him his one move and Schlereth said you better develop more than one or two moves in the NFL. Thats the only thing I have thought about ever since he "fell" to the Jets. Maybe Schlereth was right and he hasn't developed.

Well, we learned that the 3 QBs have more talent between them than the rest of the offensive squad combined. Apart from that kid Peake, didn't I read here that he was a cast-iron cut only a few days ago? We know already that we have a sub-standard O line that gives the QB one second less than most other teams in the NFL, and a shortage of horses among the ball-handling positions. And as others have said, no killer pass rusher.

I have to totally agree with you on this point. Darnold struggled some against a better defense than he has faced before as I predicted he would because of our extreme weakness at left tackle. The rest of the offense didn't help him much this time either, but, in his defense I thought he toughed it out pretty good. You are right though, our offensive pass protection highlights a glaring need for this team to be competitive, something I've been saying for a long time and in this case I hate being right. Our defense, while not top notch, isn't all that bad and I honestly believe that that high caliber edge rusher you want would greatly improve this already decent defense. I like Teddy. I wish we could keep him, but that isn't practical or even fair to him knowing that Darnold is that guy. If we can get a high caliber, and I stress high caliber, left tackle or edge rusher or even both for him, even if we have to give up a draft pick also, I am totally all for it. Bridgewater upped his value many fold last night and there are teams that want a good QB, like possibly Denver.

they had a script, that each QB followed and because of Sam D's mobility, pocket presence and field vision he is less likely to get Sanchized... Meaning he has been taking reps with these players and he has to earn his bones by working up the ladder... I expect him to get more reps with the 2s and 3s improving his stock to eventually get some work with the 1s and 1bs...

this kid has plenty of potential but he isn't ready yet to be thrown to the wolves and if we start him day one of the season he will take his lumps early and often because the 1s and 1bs around the league will eat him up especially since we still don't have a true established offensive line to protect him all game every game of the season... would love to see Teddy get his shot at the start of this year, letting them work Darnold into the fold... McCown to me is that insurance policy, i understand he is a competitor but time to step aside...

Darnold playing with the 4s and 5s helps build his awareness and instinct to eventually improve to the point to feel the rush rather than see them... Sam like I said has good field vision able to look off defenders to find the open target but he is still adjusting to this speed and the ability of them veterans he is facing...

I agree G I have nothing against the D man but we have a very good qb that never peaked on our roster..lets see what we got
