I want to see better run blocking. With Beachum and Winters looking like they won’t play, a few of these guys like Qvale, Dozier, Harrison, and Ijalana need to step up and show their worth to this team.

This will be very interesting game to watch. Obviously they will give Darnold as much playing time as possible. Whether he starts or not. Question is how much time does Bridgewater get? Is this still a QB competition for the starter and second string or not? Will they play Bridgewater more to showcase him for trade bait? How much will the rest of the starters play with either QB? Besides all the QB questions I want to see our defense keep up the intensity, and I will oline do better on run and pass blocking? Also, what receivers will show more in that battle. Enunwa, Anderson and Kearse are locks but who will step up between Pryor, Hansen, Stewart and the rest?

Jets coming a preseason week one victory looking to double down this early preseason... Sam Darnold has been getting most of the reps this week for the matchup against Washington, only one real question is Darnold going to get the majority of the reps in game two and will we see him with the starters unlike last week where he played with the players unlikely to make the practice squad...

We are inching closer to the season the question is, will they rush Sam D. to the big boy table even though there are two capable veteran options available and looking good doing so?

Week one we saw strong defense, solid offensive line play (starters) a running game that has promise but the passing attack seems to be the catalyst with all the receiving options available.

Continuity needs to continuing developing between starters and role players so they do not miss a beat in substitutions... We need to see more reps from Teddy Bridgewater along with the Rook... The running game, outside Bilal Powell needs to control the line of scrimmage so we can see more down the middle of the field passing to tight ends, since we still don't know who is going to take this job...

Defense someone needs to step up and take the edge responsibility...

Special teams looks like it will be a problem unless someone proves otherwise...

So what do you want to see in preseason game 2 from Gang Green?
bowles dodged a bullet playing the kid with guys that won't make an NFL roster.. that should never, ever happen again..

at least no for another 15 years or ao..

looking foward to seeing the kid getting a chance to make plays downfield against washington..

they had a script, that each QB followed and because of Sam D's mobility, pocket presence and field vision he is less likely to get Sanchized... Meaning he has been taking reps with these players and he has to earn his bones by working up the ladder... I expect him to get more reps with the 2s and 3s improving his stock to eventually get some work with the 1s and 1bs...

this kid has plenty of potential but he isn't ready yet to be thrown to the wolves and if we start him day one of the season he will take his lumps early and often because the 1s and 1bs around the league will eat him up especially since we still don't have a true established offensive line to protect him all game every game of the season... would love to see Teddy get his shot at the start of this year, letting them work Darnold into the fold... McCown to me is that insurance policy, i understand he is a competitor but time to step aside...

Darnold playing with the 4s and 5s helps build his awareness and instinct to eventually improve to the point to feel the rush rather than see them... Sam like I said has good field vision able to look off defenders to find the open target but he is still adjusting to this speed and the ability of them veterans he is facing...

This week will be tough for Darnold if he plays because we are going to be hurting at left tackle with Beachum and Ijalana both out. The rest of the "O" line will have to step up to protect and help him. If he plays, and likely he will, we will get some measure of his toughness under duress. The same could be said for Bridgewater although he has experience to help him through such adversity.

chances are, if the jets just don't get the kid hurt/completely mishandle him, i see us having something special here long term..

the kid is the most important player this franchise has drafted since namath.. i believe this regime should treat him as such..

no I get your point, but for him to take that next step to be that guy he needs to play shit competition, to build up his game so when he plays the real 1% talent of the league that he has experienced enough that he can handle everything that is thrown at him the good and the bad... we see he is a leader on the field and players are playing hard for him, this opens up us finding that additional star or game breaker that we would normally not find with say a McCown in mop up duty...

so far, Clive Walford has looked the best tight end option we have after Neal Sterling went down... Darnold also building chemistry with Walford which if both are starting season opener (or whenever we decide it is Sam D time) we have something (base game plan) to work with...

not to mention he is earning respect from defenders out there, including one loud mouth Josh Norman...

well Sam Darnold gets the start tonight against Washington... So 1s and 1bs this is his chance to take the starting job... Lets see how he handles everything, and go from there...

Love his pocket presence even when it doesn’t go well. Pass protection flopped on him and he did the smart thing and took the sack without losing major yards. He also didn’t turn the ball over by throwing some dumbass int or the Jets QB famous fumble.

Man this kid looks good out there. Josh Norman wasn’t just blowing smoke people.

Don’t know if the pass coverage was that tight or if Darnold couldn’t find that open receiver fast enough. I liked how he stayed in the pocket trying to find the open man. Problem with that is his pocket awareness in a goal line situation has to be better then that. Double edge sword I guess.

One thing I don’t like is they won’t allow or it doesn’t appear they want him to throw over 25 yards. Let the kid air it out once or twice.

If he has to hold the ball while waiting for a receiver to get open deep, he'll get murdered. The protection isn't holding up.
