January, 2011. Jets 28 Patriots 21. Jets advance to the AFC Championship Game. “Can’t wait!”

It can be done. And we’ve got Sam Darnold, not Mark Sanchez.

If we trade down a few spots and we know we can get the left tackle with the pick, then it's worth it. I suppose it depends on what we pick up in free agency

We need more than a single 'high-impact' player, we need several NFL-quality players. After what the Colts got from us, if we could get TWO #2s to swap #1 picks it would seem like good business to me. There won't be any Pro-Bowl quality young O linemen in FA.

Settle down dude, I won’t allow for anyone to be more negative than me. And I would be happy just to be 2nd in our division. It would be way better than last.

I'm sure there will be trades, particularly trade-ups for QB's, but for the sake of this mock I'm playing it straight with no trades.
  1. CARDS - Nick Bosa, ER, Ohio State (Bosa is the consensus #1 Pick and will likely stay so unless someone trades up for a QB.)
  2. 49ERS - Josh Allen, ER, Kentucky (Quinnen was the best defensive player in college football in 2018, but teams value ER's over DT's.)
  3. JETS - Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama (Josh Jacobs is a sleeper here, but it's hard to pass on Q with the top two ER's off the board.)
  4. RAIDERS - Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan (Gary won't replace Mack, that's close to impossible, but he's damn good and his ceiling is high.)
  5. BUCS - Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama (Jacobs is an elite feature RB and terrific receiver too. Saban's 3 RB's rotation held JJ's numbers down.)
  6. GIANTS - Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State (Giants are a conservative organization. They take the prototype over the smaller Murray.)
  7. JAGUARS - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma (Smaller than Mayfield but equally accurate. Has a cannon for an arm and can run like the wind.)
  8. LIONS - DK Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss (Not saying he's Calvin Johnson, but there are similarities. It's all about passing his physical for Metcalf.)
  9. BILLS - Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State (Size and talent are scary, but could slide due to a domestic violence incident in 2016.)
  10. BRONCOS - Drew Lock, QB, Missouri (It took Elway only one year to realize Case Keenum was fools gold.)
  11. BENGALS - Devin White, ILB, LSU (White has All-Pro potential and he fills one of Cinci's biggest needs.)
  12. PACKERS - Jonah Williams, OG, Alabama (As Rodgers gets older, less mobile and more prone to injuries, clean pockets are an imperative.)
  13. DOLPHINS - Daniel Jones, QB, Duke (I think Miami has given up on Tannehill, so they start from scratch with Jones.)
  14. FALCONS - Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida (Big upgrade at RT with the feet and athleticism to play LT if Matthews goes down.)
  15. REDSKINS - Clelin Ferrell, ER, Clemson (If they acquire Foles or Flacco they'll have the luxury of replacing FA Preston Smith here.)
  16. PANTHERS - Greedy Williams, CB, LSU (Panthers desperately need to upgrade their talent at Corner.)
  17. BROWNS - Ed Oliver, DT, Houston (I think Oliver has been a little too overhyped, but at 17 he's terrific value.)
  18. VIKINGS - Cody Ford, OG, Oklahoma (Ford is a monster who could go before Jonah Williams. If not, big upgrade for the Vikings.)
  19. TITANS - Montez Sweat, ER, Mississippi State (Right now I'm giving Sweat a slight edge over Burns, but it's close.)
  20. STEELERS - Brian Burns, ER, Florida State (See above. Close call but I suspect the Steelers would be happy with either player.)
  21. SEAHAWKS - Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State (Underrated. Can play LT or RT. Like Cody Ford, could go higher than expected.)
  22. RAVENS - Christian Wilkins, DL, Clemson (4-3 DT at Clemson, but a terrific fit at DE in the Ravens 3-4 scheme.)
  23. TEXANS - Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson (Mass of humanity. Big upgrade at NT for Houston, but that failed drug test for PED's is a concern.)
  24. RAIDERS - AJ Brown, WR, Ole Miss (I've watched this kid a number of times and am dumbfounded as to why he's not carrying a higher grade.)
  25. EAGLES - Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss (For sure they are losing Nick Foles this time, so they better keep Carson Wentz healthy.)
  26. COLTS - N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State (Bigger and stronger than TY Hilton, but not as fast. Ideal compliment and red zone target.)
  27. RAIDERS - Jachai Polite, ER, Florida (At 6' 2"/250 he'll have to play OLB. Stand him up behind Rashan Gary and let them attack the QB.)
  28. CHARGERS - Devin Bush, ILB, Michigan (Their problems were on defense, not offense. Bush is the sideline-to-sideline ILB they lack.)
  29. CHIEFS - Jaylon Ferguson, ER, Louisiana Tech (If they lose Dee Ford in free agency, could look to the small school stud as a replacement.)
  30. PACKERS - Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma (If they lose Cobb in free agency, Marquise is Randall Cobb clone.)
  31. RAMS - TJ Hockenson, TE, Iowa (Fant or Irv Smith are options too, but Hockenson is said to be the best combination of blocker and receiver.)
  32. PATRIOTS - Austin Bryant, ER, Clemson (If they lose Trey Flowers to free agency, the underrated Bryant could be his replacement.)

TCT, I am known by every person who knows me as the most negative person alive. of course I blame it on a lifetime of Jet fandom, but I think you definitely give my negativity a run for the money. I don't usually do new years resolutions, but this year I am doing one. My new years resolution is to be more negative then you:global (45):

I'll give you a BJ in Macy's window if Jacobs gets out of the first round.

I was tempted to say if he gets out of the TOP 10, but a BJ (for a straight male) is a high price to pay. :)

Deal. I just don't see how a guy that doesn't start going higher than Zeke.

Bookmark this post. A straight guy giving a BJ in the window at Macy’s?

The draft can’t get here fast enough. LOL

I deleted that post. Thats a risk I simply CANNOT take. :global (35):

We had a deal. In New York, a contract is binding if there is an offer, acceptance, consideration, mutual assent, an intent to be bound, and both sides agree on all of the essential terms. ... In other words, the parties can be shown to have entered into a binding contract because they acted like they entered into a binding contract.

If the Jets stay at 3, you can pretty much guarantee it will be a defensive player. This is a very heavy defensive draft in the first 10 picks. The mocks have defensive linemen flying off the board in round 1.

Right now, I’m exploring ways to move back if I’m Macc. I feel like getting some picks back and taking a mid round offensive player to help Darnold is the way to go.

Thanks, I agree and hope that is the route they go.

This is why you don’t make a bet that your not willing to pay up, for play-play or foreal-foreal! Lol

I had to edit the mock ...

Honestly, I wanted to take Jacobs at 3, I really did, but I had to edit the mock because you just can't justify it with Q still on the board.

Since I don't love this O-line class, but I do want an offensive player for Sam, here's what I'm really hoping for ....

Jets trade down with, oh say, Jacksonville or Denver, recoup that 2 we lost for Sam (AND MORE), then take Jacobs or Metcalf if he passes his physical.

I’m with you on the move back, and acquiring the 2nd rounder, but I’d want a receiver or o-lineman with that 1st rounder.

I wanted defense in this defensive of a draft. We are in a perfect position of a Top 3 player falling into our laps or a team wanting to trade up for a QB. Maybe Oakland would give up their 4th and 24th for #3. Possibly another trade down grabbing Risner to play Center and Dillard or Ford to play Guard.
