Jets get Bell

Well, he was using the Jets. But he’s a Jet.

I don’t know what to think. Does he really want to be a Jet? Or was it the money?

We’ve got the best RB in the NFL.
This takes SO MUCH pressure off Sam Darnold, doesn't feel like he has to do it all.

ELITE RB's, patricianly dual threats as a runner and a receiver, are a Godsend for your developing QB's.

Thats why I wanted Bell so much, because I know how much better he makes Darnold.

OMG.....we have to go back to 2010 and LT or 2009 and TJ to the last time we had a legitimate star in their prime on the offensive side of the team...Not to mention Bell is better than both those guys...He was more important to Pitt than Brown hands down. He lined up all over the field and you never knew if he was a receiver or would take the hand off. Amazing and we got him for a steel. All he ever really wanted was long term contract which pitt refused to do (they dont do with any players which is why they are going to stink next year)

Between him and Crowder - and if we finish upgrading this line - Darnold could be in a better offensive situation than sanchez was and we all know the kid has way more skill. My biggest worries now are CB, Center, and OLB. OLB we should get in the draft if we stay at 3 - the rest will be interesting.

Figure between 3 players signed in FA we already have doubled our pro-bowl caliber talent on the team and they are all in their prime.

Look, we disagree on Maccagnan. So be it.

Let’s find some happiness in knowing that Sam Darnold has a STUD RB to throw the ball to, and hand the ball off to.

Deal? No matter what you think about the money, this is a significant signing.
Still pissed about Barr leaving us standing at the alter, but ...

Maccagnan held firm at 13 million per year.

Bell and Co. tried to get more teams involved (per Rapoport). It didn’t work. LeVeon knew the money wasn’t getting any better.

Scoreboard. Jets win. Macc could’ve panicked, but he showed his elite GM skills. (LMAO!) Just trying to fan the flames.

He is the best option at RB for many reasons. Jets looked to have got a great deal. Still lots of players needed.

I agree about Bell, but I don't have any faith in Mac to continue to fix this OL. I really think he thinks Harrison is a starter.

Hopefully he gives us four years of production on the field and more of what he did with the Steelers. Welcome to the ganggreen L. Bell!

Keep building that oline and having 1-2 reliable back ups that can take about 30-50 touches off L. Bell work load a year, then what he had with the Steelers will lengthen his Jets production. Hopefully past this four years!

Yurghhh! No contender wanted him so he grits his teeth and comes to the Jets for the green. Look for him to be stoned in the backfield early and often (and not in the Ricky Williams sense).

So what will we do with our high draft pick NEXT year when the BPA is defense again?

I think they were legitimately in on paradis at center, he chose an obvious contender. So now they have to change gears.

I like Sullivan better even though he's 34. He's the anchor we need on the line. He's 34, but doesn't miss playing time, and buys us 3 years to get a young center in the draft.

I think Bell has a short list of preferred teams, and the Jets aren’t one of them. His agent is telling him to wait this out. They’re hoping for a miracle.

I’m like most fans in saying this: if you don’t want to come here, then piss off. We don’t want you. Give us the courtesy of saying “NO” so we can move on.
He's signed with us on the first day of fa, he was waiting to drop an album so everyone would rush to buy it and see if he's a jet.

Mac reportedly gave him a final offer and a deadline, we got an absolute star for a good value as far as his contract.

Well, looks like we get to find out what a good running back does behind a not so good line.

He chose us over sitting home

Guys, you have to give Mac credit where it is due. Mosley was a great signing. He's a terrific player. Crowder was a smart signing. We resigned Anderson as well, again smart. The Barr thing was not his fault. He lost on Paradis, and that's probably on him, but the simple fact is that we're not going to win every deal. There are 31 other teams competing for talent in Free Agency. We landed some big time talent on both sides of the ball.

Now, I was not in the "we must sign Bell at all costs" camp. I am concerned about his running style behind this line. That said, Mac deserves a lot of credit for not overpaying for him at all. He paid fair market value for him, held firm and wouldn't budge. That was smart negotiating. I think Bell is a high risk, high reward decision. When he's on, he's one of the three best RBs in football. It's the off the field stuff that really worries me too. I'm glad he's here, and I'll root for him of course. If he turns out to be as good as Thomas Jones was with us, I can live with that. We didn't overspend, so this was a good move.

Did you guys stay up all night ?
OK , I'm happy now , ( still have a bad taste from yesterday though ) if we didn't get him , this free agency would have been a disaster.
Fill some more holes with left over scraps and draft Josh Allen ....Please

OK, begrudgingly I will give Mac credit for signing Bell at a very reasonable price. This will certainly help their offense. Mac's grade the last two days - I thought signing Barr was a good move when it happened but when Mosley signed I wasn't sure how all of them would play if they drafted Josh Allen. So Mac kind of lucked out that Barr went sniffling back home to Minnesota just like he lucked out Darnold was still there at three. I was really miffed we didn't get Paradis or Morse. I think that was more important than either Mosley or Barr and Mac just blew this one. Protecting Darnold should have been priority one and I'm not sure how we remedy our center position. I hope it's not Harrison. He is a backup at best. Liked the Crowder move even though I wanted Humphries more and a good move to resign Anderson. I will give Mac a B for the first two days. We still need a center, pass rusher and CB's. Hope Mac is not resting on his laurels this morning.

I don’t think we have enough information to state that Maccagnan blew anything. Nobody knows how fluid the situation was, or any of the details. Details about the player’s preference, whether we had an offer out, whether that offer was competitive with Carolina’s, etc. (Reports are that we were having some type of contact with his agent). Paradis isn’t the end all here. There’s still time to find someone to fill the Center spot. Shoot, Harrison wasn’t too bad replacing Long. It’s not like we have nobody there.

We just roped in CJ Moseley and LeVeon Bell, two elite football players on opposote sides of the ball, and people are actually still pissed about Matt Paradis?

To each his own, I guess.

We want instant gratification !!!!!!

i do like what we did so far

And I love that the Giants are now in disarray !!!!!!!

They're getting all the news and probably the # 1 overall pick next year !!!!!

I don't think off the field issues are really a thing, we'll see what language is in the deal.

Bell's running style is perfect for a mediocre line, play action, screens, plus bell is a wr. He gets 400 touches a year!!!!!!

To reinforce your point on mac. Many fans are hypocrites and can't see it. If mac offered paradis more money, they'd complain he over paid, or we have to over pay to get talent.
If Paradis came here for a big deal, then the complaint is he's just here for the money.

How about the truth? Paradis is a human being and can prefer one team or city over another. He was dead honest, he wants a contender, and Atlanta is absolutely a good team to join.

We have promise and a bright future, but atlanta is in it right now.
