Guys, you have to give Mac credit where it is due. Mosley was a great signing. He's a terrific player. Crowder was a smart signing. We resigned Anderson as well, again smart. The Barr thing was not his fault. He lost on Paradis, and that's probably on him, but the simple fact is that we're not going to win every deal. There are 31 other teams competing for talent in Free Agency. We landed some big time talent on both sides of the ball.
Now, I was not in the "we must sign Bell at all costs" camp. I am concerned about his running style behind this line. That said, Mac deserves a lot of credit for not overpaying for him at all. He paid fair market value for him, held firm and wouldn't budge. That was smart negotiating. I think Bell is a high risk, high reward decision. When he's on, he's one of the three best RBs in football. It's the off the field stuff that really worries me too. I'm glad he's here, and I'll root for him of course. If he turns out to be as good as Thomas Jones was with us, I can live with that. We didn't overspend, so this was a good move.
