I agree with your first sentence, but SD had Anderson open 3 times deep and missed each time. The first two he underthrew and the third an overthrow. He hits one of those its a win. The OL play was really bad, and IMHO was the reason for the offense's poor performance. Hopefully, it was mostly communication and the lack of time the group actually played together.
Not making excuses for the kid but were those over or under thrown passes because of the pressure or was it all on Darnold? I remember that overthrown pass, he did have time and stepped into the throw. So that was on him but what about the under thrown passes?
