Obviously the Jets won’t do this or I truly don’t think they would but I say if they lose this game, don’t tank the rest of the season but stop the patch up job also. What I mean is definitely try to win all games but stop trading away our draft picks (any draft picks) and stop signing these over the hill veterans or bench warmers and just play the players we have. Let’s see what this current constructed team can do and build from there during the off season.
I’m truly hoping that Gase and especially Douglas has the build through the draft mentality because that seems to be the best way to build a winning franchise that will last. Douglas seemed to have that mentality with the Eagles so he needs to keep that going here. We see the success and longevity with the Seahawks, Chiefs, Cowboys, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers and Saints. The Patriots are the exception but they are the exception in everything they do. The Rams seem to like going the free agent route also and are very successful with it but the Jets don’t seem to be successful at all at it.
So if they lose this game just go with what they got and let the season be what it’s going to be. If they lose Monday night then how in the hell should anyone expect them to win the next four games? At that point the season is done anyway, so why bother continuing to make trades and pick up back ups? Shame that Bell and Mosley (especially), Crowder and Osmele have to deal with this garbage but their here now, signed their contracts on the dotted line and it is what it is.
