If the Jets lose this Cleveland Browns game

Obviously the Jets won’t do this or I truly don’t think they would but I say if they lose this game, don’t tank the rest of the season but stop the patch up job also. What I mean is definitely try to win all games but stop trading away our draft picks (any draft picks) and stop signing these over the hill veterans or bench warmers and just play the players we have. Let’s see what this current constructed team can do and build from there during the off season.

I’m truly hoping that Gase and especially Douglas has the build through the draft mentality because that seems to be the best way to build a winning franchise that will last. Douglas seemed to have that mentality with the Eagles so he needs to keep that going here. We see the success and longevity with the Seahawks, Chiefs, Cowboys, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers and Saints. The Patriots are the exception but they are the exception in everything they do. The Rams seem to like going the free agent route also and are very successful with it but the Jets don’t seem to be successful at all at it.

So if they lose this game just go with what they got and let the season be what it’s going to be. If they lose Monday night then how in the hell should anyone expect them to win the next four games? At that point the season is done anyway, so why bother continuing to make trades and pick up back ups? Shame that Bell and Mosley (especially), Crowder and Osmele have to deal with this garbage but their here now, signed their contracts on the dotted line and it is what it is.

No more then two minutes after posting this thread the breaking news comes out that Darnold is out Monday night with Mono and might miss multiple weeks. This just gets better and better. SMDH!

They will start 0-6 100% guaranteed. Trade Bell. Trade Mosley and get multiple picks for each. Trade Leonard Williams for a 2030 7th round pick. And rebuild through the draft. I would even trade Adams. You could get 6-7 picks for our Big 3.

I agree with you. I wouldn't go trading everyone like Tebow suggests but I would play it out and see what we got.. Hope for some overachievers

I'm wiling to give Douglas a chance and see what he does. Obviously he came in late and inherited the roster so he is trying to fill holes and make the team competitive as quickly as possible.

Seeing what he can do with a full offseason and his first draft and then we can start judging.

Personally I didn't think we would win more than 6-8 games this year anyway, so I was looking more for development and growth of the team then them willing games out the gate.

Well, speaking of this years FA route, the Free agents are basically the only ones who showed up
Moseley was an absolute beast, if he doesn’t get hurt, the Jets probably win. That’s how big/important he is.
Bell and Crowder were the only guys ballin’ on the O.
I cant believe R. Anderson is in a contract year and he didn’t lay out for the long pass or attack the underthrown one to get a PI. Funny, the Jets now have one of the toughest WR in Hines Ward on staff and Anderson still is playing like a puss C.

Nah, don’t trade them away. They’re here so they need to see this through like any other player. Besides we probably wouldn’t get first rounders for them like you think. Maybe for Adams because he’s 23-24 years old but Bell and Mosley both being 27, I don’t know. Yes these are players that are still in their prime and all world players but something just tells me it wouldn’t happen. These three players are basically all we have along with Crowder, Montgomery and Herndon (when he returns). Trading away the players you mention would be exactly what the Dolphins are doing and I don’t think anyone except you wants that.

Well we will be 4-12 with them.

That will probably be so but they signed on the dotted line, so they need to ride the wave like everyone else. They will obviously lose this game and the the next 4-5 after. So after that happens or after this Cleveland game really, just play who you have and start planning for next year. See who wants it and who can contribute for the future as a Jet. Unless you can make some big time trades for young future stars like Minkah Fitzpatrick or Jalen Ramsey or Mike Evans then just go with what you got and let the chips fall where they may. Draft well and pick up the correct free agents next year and hopefully we’ll have a better team then we do now.

I agree.that 0-6 is a strong possibility if not inevitable. If that happens our HC will be 13-26 over last three years I believe. LOL, sounds a lot like TB era.

Hey maybe we dont win a game this season and then trade TUA for 3 1st round picks from the fish heads - how awesome would that be. Get oline, CB, and a #1 wr

Mosley and Q. Williams are out for this game. I am now convinced that Joe Namath or someone from that team that year made a deal with the devil for the Super bowl victory. Since then we haven’t been able to do anything right. Anything we try just fails and what’s worse, they tease us by getting close every now and then but no dice.

With the Jets it just always seems like Murphy's law! What can go wrong always goes wrong!

With no Mosley I don't think we stand a chance on MNF, that being said I was never expecting us to make the playoffs this year, it was all about development and continuing to build on both sides of the ball. So that being said, bring on the Jameson and the game LOL

Oh boy, 0-6 is looking very real, sigh. You know I am numb... maybe when sam comes back in 6-8 weeks not before... we can string a few wins...to take the sting out of this debacle of a year.

Hey we weren't going to make the playoffs anyway, so 6 wins is probably worse than no wins LOL (at least we'll get a high draft pick to help the rebuild)

Oh goody
Is this a 3 or 5 year rebuild this time ?

I don't think 3 years is unreasonable, We still need a #1 WR, a new O Line and some decent CB's so there still a lot of missing pieces on this team
