WOW, ALL I CAN SAY IS FUCKING WOW! Not saying that this wasn't deserved but this goes to show how dysfunctional this team is. Then again, Osmele was acquired before Douglas got here so I guess he's clearing house.

There's only one guarantee in the NFL, injury.
As jet fans we are blessed with 3, injury, suspension's and dysfunction. We are truly blessed !!!

Seeing that the NFLPA was involved last week and the injury ended up being worse than initially diagnosed, I'm assuming this is going to get very ugly.

That being said, I think Osemele just signed his own NFL retirement papers because no one is ever going to sign him after this.

If it turns out he was telling the truth, he will get all his money due from the Jets and will be signed in free agency.
The Jets will only get bottom of the barrel FAs who have no other offers. No team will Black ball him for the Jets mishandling of his injury.
Let's hope he has been lying about everything. Or like you said, it's going to get very ugly, and not for Osemele

I'm hoping the Jets took the page out of what Oakland did with AB...

Just because it is the Jets it is getting media hype in the wrong way...

Osmele chose to rebel before the surgery, he has an obligation to inform the Jets and adhere to their doctors... Not showing up for practice regardless if he was healthy enough to do so, he was fined by the team... He kept doing his thing against the permission of the team who holds his contract... I could be wrong, but think the Jets played this properly... Because he kept going against the team, and the team kept fining him the team after he went and had the surgery on his own, he broke bylaws in the CBA... There is a reason the players are insured by the team, to pay for surgeries like this one... Here is the real question if what I read is true then Oakland could be in hot water, they traded an injured player and didn't disclose Kelechi had a shoulder injury...

Saw several times that KO had this shoulder injury before he came to the Jets...

As a vested veteran the Jets will have to pay the rest of the $5.2 Million left on this year's salary but if the league sides with the Jets they could be exempt because KO voided his own contract by disobeying team doctors, and front office personnel...

Well that is what I am hoping is going happen...

Either way I am glad this headache is gone, we can now move on... And for those stating no one is gonna come here, money talks... Pay the right contract to the right player(s) and they will all walk in the front door... Or do it the right way and draft properly...

Usually I agree with you but the headache isn't gone, yet. We'll find out when they get done with LA law'ing it...

Completely different circumstances between AB and Osemele. AB was AWOL, Osemele in the Facility. In the training room.
It all hinges on one thing, the MRIs. If Douglas did first send a blank MRI followed by the wrong MRI, the Jets will be paying the full balance of his salary and a lot more. That alone violates his rights per the CBA and raises a bunch of legal ,moral and ethical questions.

Day 1 Prospect

If I'm Joe Douglas, one of my first demands would have been the installation of a full bar in my office. Because the moment he stepped into his office at 1 Jets Drive his headaches and ulcers began. I would not blame this guy for drinking himself into oblivion while trying to sort out the problems related to dysfunctional ownership. This is a tortured franchise. It is so unfortunate that a team with such a large and dedicated fan base cannot do better over such a long period of time.

Someone might sign him to a veteran minimum, but his big money days are over and not because of this. They are over because he is done as a player. He has showed a complete drop off the cliff in his career.

If he's fit, he'll be snapped up. There is a shortage of NFL standard OL. Dozier walked into a starting job and we had to overpay Winters to keep him. Osemele, another great piece of business by the Jets.

Not if they watch tape from the last two years.

Agree that this fiasco is not on Douglas. But although Mccagnan was still GM when the Osemele trade happened last March, in reality Gase was actually functioning as both HC and GM. Mikey was fired two months later. So along with his other problems/issues, it looks like the wunderking Gase f**ked this one up too.

Face it, folks. Gase is an ongoing catastrophe on many levels (think levels in multi-dimensional chess played by a race of advance beings). Sadly, many of us knew hiring the recently-fired-from-Miami HC was a mistake. But the Bothers Johnson were not in this camp.

Osemele big scam! She he just looked for a team to pay him 10 mil while he has surgery to get it fixed by free agency and I'm supposed to be mad at Jets for him scamming 10 mil? Is ther 1 person in here thinks coming from 1 company and to another Company with an injury and expect that new Company to pay you your entire salary missing work under 1 year contract so you can be hundred percent to work somewhere else? Osemele planned this! Odd thing is 3 Doctors to get what he wanted. First 2 Doctors must have said he could play and wasnt til 3rd Doctor that gave him his Paper to post on internet. I have NO Problem with a Player that gets injured on OUR team getting paid to get fixed. I do have a problem with this preexisting injury and expects Jets to pay his FULL contract for zero play from an injury from another team.
