Hopefully this will be the end of it besides mediation to determine his money owed.
Seeing that the NFLPA was involved last week and the injury ended up being worse than initially diagnosed, I'm assuming this is going to get very ugly.
That being said, I think Osemele just signed his own NFL retirement papers because no one is ever going to sign him after this.
Usually I agree with you but the headache isn't gone, yet. We'll find out when they get done with LA law'ing it...I'm hoping the Jets took the page out of what Oakland did with AB...
Just because it is the Jets it is getting media hype in the wrong way...
Osmele chose to rebel before the surgery, he has an obligation to inform the Jets and adhere to their doctors... Not showing up for practice regardless if he was healthy enough to do so, he was fined by the team... He kept doing his thing against the permission of the team who holds his contract... I could be wrong, but think the Jets played this properly... Because he kept going against the team, and the team kept fining him the team after he went and had the surgery on his own, he broke bylaws in the CBA... There is a reason the players are insured by the team, to pay for surgeries like this one... Here is the real question if what I read is true then Oakland could be in hot water, they traded an injured player and didn't disclose Kelechi had a shoulder injury...
Saw several times that KO had this shoulder injury before he came to the Jets...
As a vested veteran the Jets will have to pay the rest of the $5.2 Million left on this year's salary but if the league sides with the Jets they could be exempt because KO voided his own contract by disobeying team doctors, and front office personnel...
Well that is what I am hoping is going happen...
Either way I am glad this headache is gone, we can now move on... And for those stating no one is gonna come here, money talks... Pay the right contract to the right player(s) and they will all walk in the front door... Or do it the right way and draft properly...
Completely different circumstances between AB and Osemele. AB was AWOL, Osemele in the Facility. In the training room.I'm hoping the Jets took the page out of what Oakland did with AB...

Key to our playoff run!
If he's fit, he'll be snapped up. There is a shortage of NFL standard OL. Dozier walked into a starting job and we had to overpay Winters to keep him. Osemele, another great piece of business by the Jets.
WOW, ALL I CAN SAY IS FUCKING WOW! Not saying that this wasn't deserved but this goes to show how dysfunctional this team is. Then again, Osmele was acquired before Douglas got here so I guess he's clearing house.
