Seems like Adams has issues with Gase. This can get ugly, but honestly the front office at this point needs to tell him to STFU and honor his contract. Dude deserves to be paid, but he's acting like a privileged baby

I don't believe a word Mehta says. He's got an agenda, always has. He hates Gase for whatever reason and has unrelentingly tried to take him down. Look, I didn't like the hire either, but he deserves time. He got Douglas here, who was a terrific hire. He has a pretty darn good coaching staff around him. I am not at all willing to bail on him at this point. Darnold started to look really comfortable in the offense last year, and they seem to get along well. That's the most important thing. Screw Mehta and his stupid rumors.
And even if it is true, so what? Adams needs to be a pro, act like a pro, and shut up and play. He spends most of his time with Gregg Williams anyway, who is a heck of a defensive coach. If he is going to be a locker room cancer, send him packing. As good as he is, and he is a great player, he's replaceable.

Adams is a great player who is showing himself now to be a spoiled petulant child, the old schoolyard "I'll just take my ball and go home" guy. When he had last year's tantrum about Douglas listening to offers - not soliciting offers but listening at least when other teams called - he compared himself to Tom Brady. How many times did Brady take less money for the good of the team? Several! Jamal Adams ain't no Tom Brady.

Brady never took less money. He was paid through side buisness deals by the Patriots to circumvent the Cap.
I have always thought that to be true, with his wife's income being the reason why that 'couldn't' be the case. I would love to see that investigated and found that Kraft was circumventing the salary cap. My guess it will go the way of the videos that were destroyed the first time they were caught.
There was an investigation, but the CBA had no rules prohibiting teams from conducting buisness with players or their families. Sports Illustrated ran a lengthy story on it several years ago.
