Jesus Christ such negativity. DAMN dude relax. It was an interview and Dan Patrick is a journalist. What other questions was he supposed to ask him? It’s obvious that Trevor is headed to the Jets or Jaguars and the Jets have the lead on him so far. Plus Patrick is a Jets fan so there’s a vested interest there anyway. We’re you joking with this post or are you serious? This post has to be a joke right, what other questions was he supposed to ask a top ranked football player that’s entering the draft this year? DAMN!!!

Dan Patrick is a journalist?

Someone might want to tell him that.

Calm down, girls. Perhaps Lawrence gets injured by Alabama and we then have the Tua situation where his draft stock drops. Water to flow under the bridge yet.

Your posting stuff that no one can predict or even think about. Knowing our luck that won’t happen anyway. Lawrence won’t get hurt and he’ll take Clemson to another championship and look absolutely great in doing it. Just hurting us more and more as he heads to Jacksonville next year and where do we go from there? Build around Darnold while Gase is still our HC! BULLSHIT!

If that happens I’m done with the Jets, I truly can’t take this shit anymore!

So I had to change the name of this thread because it’s pretty obvious that Trevor Lawrence is no longer an option unless a miracle happens over the next two weeks. So where do we go from here Jets faithful. I truly don’t know the answer to that but in my opinion we draft Justin Fields because Sam Darnold has shown that he is not the answer for the Jets. I believe Justin Fields is a much better quarterback than Sam Darnold but of course he isn’t Trevor Lawrence.

All we can hope for at this point is that when Clemson plays against Ohio State in the college playoffs is that Justin Fields can hold his own in the game. Clemson is probably going to crush Ohio State and Trevor Lawrence will probably throw for 400 yards and five touchdowns but as long as Justin Fields can hold his own and show us something, in my opinion it will give us something to look forward to. It’s all we have at this point IMO!

So I’m thinking that the Jets should draft Justin Fields and build around him and of course this is all centered around hiring the right head coach and staff. Good luck with that now that Trevor Lawrence is no longer an option. If they can manage to hire the right guy then hopefully building around Justin Fields could turn out to be pretty promising. Who knows maybe he’ll grow into becoming the next Josh Allen. This is so damn disappointing!!!

Again, Hurtz was not a top pick & maybe a two week wonder but if I were an Eagles fan I would be excited. Let it playout folks that was a good win Yesterday & Maye came up big.

One fucking win at the end of the season and everyone is getting back on Darnold ( a bottom ranked QB)
So obvious the Rams looked past the Jets and chalked up a win before they took the field and that hurt them .
Last years final 6 wins was also a joke . That put hopes high if you didn’t see it was garbage then .
I’m not a Darnold fan ,and if they don’t move on .the Jets are doomed for more garbage football.
I’ll take a shot with Fields. No one wanted Mahones at 1 or 2 either .
Time to move on

He will more than likely be the next Geno Smith.

I would rather draft Sewell at #2, Mac Jones or Trask with Seattle's pick and then Harris with second round pick. The OL is vital for whoever is the QB of the Jets.

I don't think the D man is the answer but who am I or us? He still might be. If Sidney Fields is the answer lets draft him. The OL is huge but so are other positions

I’m with you 1,000 percent here. Although the two games I watched Ohio State and Fields play I wasn’t impressed, his overall college stats are more impressive than Darnold’s was in college (if I’m correct). So at this point what do we have to lose (other than the fact that we just lost out on most likely a QB that might actually be able to compete with Mahomes for the next 15 years or so).

Hire the right HC and CS staff and this is whether we drafted Lawrence or not, we needed this. Draft Fields, trade Darnold for a third and fourth if we’re lucky and continue to draft correctly and build around Fields. He won’t be Lawrence but he’ll most likely be a lot better than Darnold and that’s will stand on itself. Build a good team around the kid with the correct CS and maybe we can still come out of this on top with some satisfaction here.

Doubt that seriously! The kid is much better than that and much better than Darnold. He’s not Trevor Lawrence but he’s better than what we have now and had for quite some time now.

It's up to Douglas and depends on what he thinks of Darnold. To be fair the kid has not played on a Jets team that wasn't a dumpster fire. This year was pretty much step one in the rebuild and Becton looks like a long term solution at LT. This was a bizzaro season and the Jets line took most of the season to become mediocre, let's hope they can have a training camp next season! next season we will finally see Darnold behind a competent O-line and we will find out exactly what we have.

Yes, I knew one game doesn’t say everything but it sure says a lot. If you didn’t watch it or hear about it, OSU crushed Clemson in the college playoffs yesterday and Justin Fields throw 6 TDs for almost 400 yards. Now they get to play against Alabama for the national championship. Now this game was significant because no one really thought OSU would win and Fields would play that well but they did and he did.

This was also a match up of the two projected top QBs (with Fields draft stock slipping a bit) going head to head and Fields stepped up big time. Mind you he did this with sore ribs after a crushing hit he took in the game. That there also shows his toughness. So does this mean that the Jets will reconsider Fields draft stock? Especially if he plays well against Bama and don’t let OSU actually win?

Should they and do we Jets fans now reconsider Fields draft stock, especially if he has another showing like this in the Bama game?

TODAYS GAME TOLD ME THAT DARNOLD HAS TO GO AND IF THERE IS ANY HOPE, IT JUST ISN'T WITH THE JETS. HE NEEDS EVERYTHING TO BE AVERAGE TO ABOVE AVERAGE AND THAT SHOULDN'T BE THE CASE FOR A FIRST ROUND PICK, THIRD OVERALL. HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET A THIRD OR FOURTH ROUND PICK FOR HIM. IT ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE 2ND OVERALL PICK HAS TO BE A QB. FIELDS OR LAWRENCE, PICK YOUR CHOICE, IT DOESN'T MAKE ME A DAMN DIFFERENCE.

LAST NOT: GASE SHOULDN'T WALK OUT THAT LOCKER ROOM AS THE HEAD COACH.
