I really hope this comes about. After the Jets hired Gase and I had my initial "you've got to be bleepin' kidding" reaction, I worked very hard to find reasons to be optimistic. I would not have to work at all to be excited about Saleh. Here's Kyle Shanahan on him:
“I will be very surprised if we don’t lose him. I don’t know what’s wrong with people if they don’t hire him. I mean, he’s as good as you can get and knows more about football, all three phases. Also, I can't find the article now, but my favorite quote was from one of the 49ers defensive veterans who talked about Saleh's in-game and week-to-week adjustments and called him the most football-intelligent person he's known.
