Pitts is actually a great fit for a ZBS( which we are expected to run), not really for a power blocking scheme

Fields had a good pro day but he is still a one read QB, struggled against good Ds, hesitant to throw until his receiver is open. Not a good fit for the Jets system.
Wilson at #2. Need to build around him with our 2nd #1 and our 2nd Rd pick. RT and OG or TE or RB or WR.
What happens if he's gone which is quite possible
Draft the “ Utah Saint” , then load up the linemen
then draft Vera Tucker and take their second linebacker on their big board with the 34th pick or one of 3rd rounders.
that would be a very good fall back position. Tucker should be a quite good OG in the league.
Particularly if Tucker, Newsome, and Horn are not there. If one of them are, I see JD selecting one.
If you're suggesting that not taking an OL at #23 is some sort of GM malpractice, I disagree. #23 is an odd spot in that the value of who's available at OL may not be suitable. If you have an Edge or CB like the aforementioned Newsome, Horn, or Ajulari available and not Slater or Tucker e.g., then you should take one of them vs. an OL who you can get at #34.
Sorry but i not on the ride . The Jets need to build an offensive team that can score points . The way this team is put together right now it can go out and play decent defense . Even with the new QB and the additions at receiver, this team isn't scary to anyone but themselves on offense . The OL is shameful and we really need a feature RB especially if we're running a rook out there at QB . Fix the offense this year and work on improving the defense next year .
I agree as JD says build the sandwich first then attack it & then worry about the calories later. It is the only way to build a good sandwich I mean team. five layers too just like the OL
Jets like a few corners in this draft none of them are first round selections... Eric Stokes from UGA from Georgia a 3rd round option... Paulson Adebo mid/late 3rd... Rodarius Williams mid 3rd... Assante Samuel & Shaun Wade late 3rd early 4th...
outside QB, Joe Douglas will target OL in the first... Ojulari is a first round talent but depending on how the board falls could land early in the 2nd... But because this is a top heavy draft of both offensive and defensive linemen it would be prudent to target a need earlier with a chance of still filling potential developmental and future options thereafter...
HC, DC, LB all went to UGA and DC Ulbrich was one of the two to run drills where they focused on three prospects; Ojulari, Rice, Stokes...
They interviewed all three and expect at least one maybe two to be drafted by us... Could be wrong but when specific coaches go in a group like this to a pro day is because they are hoping to target said prospect(s)...

I'm somewhat bias because i love Georgia players . I could never understand why that program never won the National Championship with all the talent they play with . I like Monty Rice but i think i could fall all over Chazz Surratt or Jabril Cox in our defense .
I don't think the Jets will go OL in the 1st or 2nd Rds. I think they will go Edge and CB. Now this is not what I would want them to do. I would prefer RT, OG with the 23rd and 34th picks.
