Carman will likely start at guard this year then nxt yr move to tackle no need to have both but opens the door for someone like K. Green a OG/OC to come in and develop as a future piece with no pressure to start immediately.

What you describe is the ideal OL pipeline that has been missing on the Jets for as long as I can remember. Hopefully, Clark steps up this year and the drafting of two Day 2 folks really solidifies the developmental template.
if JD wants to build the with Fant apart of the rotation this year they will bring in someone who projects as his replacement but will start at RG this year. Carman is 1 of 2 and other is Teven Jenkins who looks to be a late 1st selection. Getting someone like Kendrick Green in the early 4th is someone who can maximize his development this year to either takeover at center or RG next year and open the door for that 5th and final piece in the OL rebuild.
I would prefer 2 starters on the OL. Preferably Ferguson and Mangold. A LT or RT to play OG and mover to RT next year and a Center in the Mangold mold. As per gmf1369, either draft one next year or count on Clark to add to the top 5 OL. Need protection for our new QB.
